JP Morgan Chase - Director - Software Engineering - Corporate Technology Team

We have an exciting opportunity for you to drive strategic initiatives and deliver innovative solutions. As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology team, you lead the India SAP General Ledger team responsible for driving the strategy, delivering the build, and supporting the production platform. You will lead multiple technical areas and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances. You will also act as the India regional lead for the broader GL, VCG, and Post GL organization.

Job responsibilities

- Leads India SAP GL team to deliver technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives

- Directly manages the India team to deliver against multiple technical areas (SAP S4Hana GL, SAP BW, Databricks)

- Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures

- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations

- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains

- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams

- Manage the relationship with the SAP vendor

- Championing in firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

- Provide people management oversight and mentoring

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience

- 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate, and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization.

- Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists.

- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.

- Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager.

- Practical cloud native experience.

- Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

- Experience working at code level
