Global Research - Mumbai Sell-side Research- Analyst/ Associate ESG RESEARCH Analyst/Associate - J.P. Morgan's Global Research Center (GRC) was set up in Mumbai in August 2003 as an extension of the firm's global equity research teams around the world. - GRC has grown steadily and the team of analysts has expanded to provide coverage for the key sectors globally. Besides working with J.P. Morgan's equity research teams, GRC Analysts are now engaged with other areas of public side research including fixed income research, strategy, derivatives, commodities, quant and indices. - The relevant candidate will work closely with the Paris based Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) team to help them roll-out the products and services envisaged as part as the ESG research strategy. The Researcher/Analyst's main responsibilities will include : 1. Gathering and analyzing ESG data from a variety of sources, including company reports, the internet, online databases and JPMorgan proprietary content. 2. Check quality of reported data, in collaboration with ESG team. 3. Contribute to the design and development of an ESG database. 4. Building, maintaining and analyzing financial models of companies and industries; generating regular and one-off reports, graphs and datasets from these models, using a standard JPMorgan format. 5. Writing content (text, tables and charts) for team's ESG research notes and presentations to be used internally and published externally by colleagues in other parts of global research. 6. Maintaining regular contact with colleagues in the global sectors, taking part in conference calls and responding to project requests (often client-generated). Essential skills : - Genuine interest in sustainability related themes - Strong quantitative skills including database management - Analytical aptitude and ability to learn financial concepts - Good knowledge of Excel and standard Office suite - Good communication and team skills in a multi-location set up - Close attention to detail and ability to work to very high standards - A strong motivation to learn and manage projects independently - Good writing skills are a plus - Ideal candidates for these positions would be Dual Degree Engineers from IITs with some exposure to finance and accounting courses or Post-Graduates from top Institutes in India. - J.P.
