Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute national sales strategies to achieve volume, revenue, and market share targets.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
General Trade Management:
- Drive General Trade sales across regions through a strong distributor and retailer network.
- Ensure effective coverage and penetration of the product in the general trade channel.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the zonal/regional sales managers and field sales team.
- Set KPIs and review performance regularly to ensure team alignment with business goals.
Distribution & Channel Development:
- Identify, appoint, and manage distributors across key markets.
- Strengthen and expand the distribution network ensuring availability and visibility of products.
Sales Operations & Execution:
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets and ensure timely reporting.
- Drive market execution excellence with effective trade promotions, schemes, and merchandising.
Cross-functional Coordination:
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and production teams for seamless operations.
- Provide sales forecasts and insights for planning and budgeting purposes.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum 10-15 years of progressive sales experience in the FMCG industry, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Mandatory experience in Edible Oil industry and managing General Trade sales on a national scale.
Education: Graduate in any discipline (MBA/PGDM preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Deep understanding of the Indian retail landscape, especially in edible oil.
- Excellent distributor/channel management capabilities.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across regions.
