Technical Head - Aluminium Cold Rolling (15-25 yrs)

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and optimize aluminium rolling processes.

- Design and control pass schedules, reductions, tensions, and rolling speeds.

- Ensure achievement of thickness, flatness, crown, and surface quality targets.

- Troubleshoot rolling defects such as edge cracks, waviness, chatter marks, coil breaks, and gauge variations.

- Provide technical guidance on AGC, AFC, roll bending, roll shifting, and lubrication systems.

- Support roll management, roll grinding practices, and roll life optimization.

- Drive yield improvement, scrap reduction, and cost optimization initiatives.

- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and metallurgy teams for root-cause analysis.

- Develop and implement SOPs, best practices, and process documentation.

- Train and mentor engineers, supervisors, and mill operators.

- Ensure strict adherence to safety, statutory, and environmental norms.

- Mandatory: 10-20+ years of hands-on experience in Aluminium rolling mills (cold rolling preferred).

- Proven expertise in Aluminium flat-rolled products (FRP).

- Strong knowledge of Aluminium alloys.

- Experience with high-speed tandem mills and automation systems.

- In-depth understanding of rolling mill hydraulics, AGC/AFC, and strip profile control.

- Strong defect analysis and process optimization capability.
