Role Overview:

The General Manager - Technical will serve as the strategic lead for the Flat Rolled Products (FRP) division, overseeing the entire technical lifecycle from process optimization to product quality assurance. This role involves close collaboration with production heads, R&D teams, and supply chain stakeholders to drive operational efficiency and technological innovation. By spearheading process improvements and troubleshooting complex metallurgical challenges, the incumbent will directly influence the company's competitive edge, ensuring that output meets stringent global standards while maximizing yield and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the technical operations for the Flat Rolled Products division to ensure seamless production flow and adherence to high-quality manufacturing standards.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in rolling, annealing, and finishing processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manufacturing waste.

- Mentor cross-functional teams to troubleshoot technical bottlenecks and implement corrective actions that minimize downtime and improve product consistency.

- Oversee the implementation of advanced metallurgical practices to ensure that all products meet the specific requirements of high-end industrial applications.

- Manage capital expenditure projects related to technology upgrades and machinery modernization to maintain the company's position at the forefront of the aluminium industry.

- Collaborate with quality control departments to establish and enforce rigorous testing protocols that align with international safety and performance benchmarks.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in the aluminium industry, specifically within the Flat Rolled Products domain, with a deep understanding of rolling mill operations and alloy metallurgy.

- Proven ability to lead large-scale technical teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.

- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex production data and translate technical insights into actionable business strategies.

- Exceptional communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders, vendors, and technical partners effectively.

- A degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a premier institute, complemented by 15 - 25 years of progressive experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.

- High adaptability to an on-site work environment, with the ability to manage high-pressure production settings in Bangalore.
