Analyst / Senior Analyst - Investment Banking
Location: Mumbai (Andheri East) and Chennai (Guindy)
Job Overview:
Jean Martin is looking for high-caliber Analysts and Senior Analysts - IB/PE to join its growing Financial Research team. This role offers hands-on exposure across public and private equity investment processes, working closely with global investment banks, private equity funds, hedge funds, and venture capital firms. The role demands strong analytical rigor, financial modelling expertise, PowerPoint, and research writing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and independently review robust financial and valuation models for public and private equity transactions, including M&A, LBOs, and comparable analyses.
- Develop pitch books, investment memorandums, stock screening outputs, and credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative metrics.
- Conduct detailed company and industry research to identify trends, risks, and investment opportunities.
- Prepare high-quality qualitative research outputs such as initiation notes, thematic reports, earnings notes, and event-based updates.
- Actively interact with clients to understand project requirements, communicate insights, and present deliverables clearly to stakeholders.
- Support senior team members and associates in deal execution, ongoing client engagements, and ad-hoc research assignments.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong PowerPoint skills to create CIMs, pitch decks, and teasers for M&A and Capital Raise transactions.
- Strong Excel, financial modelling, and valuation skills with solid accounting and financial fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical, research, and business writing abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with changing requirements.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-facing approach.
- Self-driven, disciplined, and capable of working independently with very limited oversight.
Experience Bands and Fitment:
- Analyst: 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Senior Analyst: 3-5 years of relevant experience.
