Description:


The Head of Energy & Utilities Data & AI will lead our strategic vision, solution development, and thought leadership for the Energy & Utilities sector, with a strong emphasis on Renewable Energy, Power Generation, Grid Modernization, and Sustainability.

This senior leader combines deep industry expertise with advanced Data & AI knowledge to shape our offerings, guide innovation, and drive market growth.

This role is responsible for defining industry strategy, establishing best practices, authoring influential thought leadership, supporting go-to-market (GTM) efforts, and guiding data-driven transformation for clients.

A Ph.D. is preferred, reflecting the research-oriented and domain-intensive nature of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Industry Strategy & Vision:

- Define and refine the companys strategic direction in the Energy & Utilities sector, with a strong focus on Renewable Energy, Distributed Energy Resources, Battery Storage, Hydrogen, Transmission & Distribution, and Grid Operations.

- Develop multi-year strategic roadmaps for scaling Data & AI solutions across the value chain (generation, forecasting, asset management, maintenance, grid analytics, market operations).

- Identify emerging trends, regulatory shifts, and disruptive technologies shaping the future of energy.

Thought Leadership:

- Produce high-impact thought leadership content: whitepapers, strategy briefs, industry POVs, conference presentations, and research-backed insights.

- Represent the company at industry forums, webinars, conferences, and partner events as a subject-matter expert.

- Establish the organization as a trusted advisor in Renewable Energy & Utilities through data-driven narratives and innovative viewpoints.

Solution & Practice Development:

- Define key industry solution offerings in areas such as generation forecasting, predictive maintenance, grid reliability, DER optimization, energy trading and risk analytics, AMI analytics, and sustainability reporting.

- Partner with technical teams to translate industry needs into scalable Data & AI frameworks,

accelerators, and reusable assets.

- Ensure solutions align with industry regulations (FERC, NERC, ISO/RTO requirements) and evolving market structures.

Go-to-Market (GTM) Leadership:

- Build and execute GTM strategies for the Energy & Utilities vertical, including messaging, positioning, value propositions, and customer engagement models.

- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Partnership teams to develop campaigns, collateral, case studies, and market differentiation.

- Participate in executive-level discussions with clients, shaping early-stage deals and solution concepts.

Industry Practice Governance:

- Define and maintain best practices, delivery methodologies, and operating models specific to the Energy & Utilities domain.

- Mentor and guide internal teamsconsultants, data scientists, engineers, and analyststo elevate capabilities and domain expertise.

- Create competency frameworks and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives across the organization.

Client Advisory & Engagement:

- Serve as the executive advisor for key Energy & Utility clients, offering guidance on digital

transformation, AI adoption, modernization of operational systems, and data strategy.

- Lead discovery workshops and roadmap sessions to identify high-value opportunities.

- Influence C-level stakeholders by connecting business goals with technical solutions.

Qualifications:

- Preferred Ph.D. in Energy Systems, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Renewable Energy, Operations Research, AI/ML, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in Energy & Utilities with strong exposure to Renewable Energy, Grid Operations, or Power Markets.

- 8+ years of experience in Data & AI, including analytics platforms, data engineering, advanced forecasting models, optimization, or machine learning.

- Deep understanding of renewable generation technologies (solar, wind, battery, hydrogen),

plant operations, grid constraints, and energy market structures.

- Proven ability to translate complex domain knowledge into clear thought leadership and impactful business strategies.

- Strong executive presence with experience presenting to senior decision-makers.

- Experience working in consulting, system integration, energy digital transformation, or a similar environment is highly preferred.
