Role Overview:

The DGM - Civil, Structural & Architectural will be responsible for planning, design review, and execution of all civil, structural, and architectural works for a large-scale (GW-size) Solar Ingot, Wafer and Cell manufacturing facility including factory buildings, cleanroom shells, foundations for heavy process equipment, warehouses, and administrative/support infrastructure. The role covers the full lifecycle from site development and design coordination through EPC/contractor execution, quality control, and handover, ensuring the built infrastructure meets process, statutory, and safety requirements within schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead planning, design review, and approval of civil, structural, PEB and architectural drawings for factory buildings, cleanroom shells, warehouses, and administrative blocks.

- Own site development planning - grading, drainage, roads, boundary/compound walls, and site infrastructure layout.

- Review and approve structural design for heavy equipment foundations (ingot pullers, wire saws, diffusion furnaces, PECVD, screen printers) in coordination with equipment OEMs and structural consultants.

- Manage EPC/civil-contractor execution - tendering, contractor selection, work-order finalization, and site supervision through to handover.

- Prepare and track project schedules (WBS) for civil/structural/architectural packages, coordinating with the overall project master schedule.

- Ensure compliance with National Building Code, seismic design codes, local municipal/development-authority approvals, and factory-building norms.

- Coordinate with MEP, utility, and process teams to ensure civil/structural design accommodates electrical, HVAC, water, and gas routing requirements.

- Conduct quality control and quality assurance of civil works - concrete, structural steel, flooring (including epoxy/anti-static cleanroom flooring), waterproofing, and finishing works.

- Manage BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and budget control for civil/structural/architectural scope.

- Obtain and track statutory approvals - building plan sanction, fire NOC, structural stability certificate, occupancy certificate, and environmental clearances related to civil works.

- Lead architectural planning for space utilization, employee amenities, and aesthetic/branding elements of the facility.

- Ensure EHS and safety compliance at construction sites, including contractor safety audits.

- Coordinate with Projects, Facility Engineering, and Process teams to align civil infrastructure readiness with equipment installation and commissioning timelines.

- Manage a team of civil/structural engineers and site supervisors, including manpower planning for site execution.

Qualifications & Experience:

- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering; M.Tech in Structural Engineering or professional qualification in Architecture (B.Arch) preferred for the architectural scope.

- 18-22 years of experience in civil, structural, and architectural planning/execution for large industrial or manufacturing projects, preferably solar PV, semiconductor, or heavy-process industries, with prior experience in a senior/leadership capacity.

- Proven experience in greenfield industrial construction - factory buildings, cleanroom shells, and heavy-equipment foundations, from design through execution and handover.

- Strong knowledge of structural design codes (IS codes/National Building Code), seismic design considerations, and industrial flooring systems (including anti-static/epoxy cleanroom flooring).

- Experience managing EPC/civil contractors, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and site quality control.

- Working knowledge of statutory approval processes - building plan sanction, fire NOC, structural stability, and occupancy certification.

- All require software skills.
