Position Overview: We are seeking a Carbon Credit Certification Specialist to join our sustainability team. The ideal candidate will possess in- depth knowledge and experience with Gold Standard, Verra, and Plan Vivo carbon credit certification standards. This role will require extensive interaction with various stakeholders, thus necessitating excellent communication skills. Roles & Responsibilities: - Lead the carbon credit certification process for projects, ensuring compliance with Gold Standard, Verra, and Plan Vivo standards. - Stay updated with the latest regulatory changes in the carbon credit market on a global scale. - Provide expert advice on the carbon credit market, including trends, opportunities, and challenges. - Manage and analyze carbon credit data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. - Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, including project developers, verifiers, and certifiers. - Lead, manage & implement technical carbon credit projects from conception to certification. - Travel internationally to oversee project implementation and certification processes. - Conduct training sessions and workshops to increase organizational knowledge on carbon credit standards and market dynamics. - Foster relationships with certification bodies, regulatory agencies, and other key players in the carbon credit domain. Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, and the carbon credit market. - Proven experience with Gold Standard, Verra, and Plan Vivo carbon credit certification standards. - Strong data management, analysis, and reporting skills. - Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery. - Sound understanding of global carbon credit regulatory frameworks. - Ability to travel internationally as needed. - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills: - Adaptive and quick learner with an interest in expanding skills in the ESG and sustainability domain. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization. - Problem- solving mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
