Name of the Position: Head of Finance / VP - Finance / CFO

Reports To: Founders / CEO (Board exposure)

Job Location: Gurgaon (WFO with alternate Saturdays off)

Desired Years of Experience: 14+ years of experience

Job Summary:

The role holder will serve as a strategic partner to the Founders and the Board. The role owns the entire finance function end-to-end - strategy, fundraising and investor relations, financial planning and analysis, controllership, treasury, taxation, audit and compliance

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Strategic Finance Leadership:

- Act as a strategic partner to the Founders, CEO and leadership team, translating the company vision into long-range financial plans and a clear capital strategy.

- Own unit economics, margin architecture and the path to profitability across channels, geographies and product lines.

- Provide data-driven insights and decision support on pricing, expansion, channel mix and new business models.

- Evaluate and execute strategic partnerships and other inorganic growth opportunities - including target identification, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring and post-deal integration.

- Build, mentor and scale a high-performing finance team, embedding a culture of ownership, accuracy and accountability.

2. Fundraising & Investor Relations:

- Lead equity and debt fundraising end-to-end - financial modelling, data rooms, due diligence and negotiation of term sheets.

- Serve as the primary finance interface for investors, the Board and other stakeholders.

- Along with the Founders' Office Team, prepare Board decks along with Founders', investor updates and MIS that clearly communicate performance, risks and strategic priorities.

- Manage the capitalisation table, valuations, and overall investor communication and governance.

3. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

- Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), rolling forecasts and long-range financial plans aligned with the growth strategy.

- Drive budgeting, variance analysis and performance tracking across all functions and business units.

- Build and maintain dynamic financial models for scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and capital allocation decisions.

- Partner with business leaders (Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing) to improve profitability and cost structures.

4. Controllership, Accounting & Reporting:


- Own the integrity of the books of accounts and financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) under Ind AS.

- Oversee the month-end and year-end close, accounting policies, internal financial controls and standard operating procedures.

- Manage accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, inventory accounting and overall working capital.

- Strengthen finance systems, ERP and automation to improve accuracy, controls and reporting efficiency at scale.

5. Treasury, Taxation, Audit & Compliance:

- Manage treasury, cash flow planning, banking relationships, debt servicing and fund utilisation.

- Ensure full compliance with direct and indirect taxes (GST, TDS, Income Tax, transfer pricing) and corporate/secretarial regulations.

- Own statutory, internal and tax audits end-to-end and ensure timely closure of audit observations.

- Establish a strong governance, risk and internal-controls framework appropriate for a scaling, well funded company.

Candidate Skills & Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant with 12 to 16 years of Finance experience, including senior finance leadership.

MBA in Finance would be an added advantage.

- Proven experience leading fundraising, investor relations and Board engagement, ideally in a high

growth startup.

- Exposure to deal structuring and unit-economics-driven strategic decision-making would be ideal

- Preferred industry experience in FMCG / D2C / Agritech / Ecommerce / Startup environments.

- Deep expertise across FP&A, controllership, treasury, taxation, audit and statutory compliance.

- Strong command of Ind AS, financial controls, and finance systems/ERP, with advanced financial

modelling skills.

- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical and decision-making abilities with a strong commercial orientation.

- Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence the Board and non-finance leaders.

- High ownership, integrity and comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous and rapidly scaling environment.
