Previous Work Experience :
18+ years in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience establishing IT infrastructure from greenfield. Exposure to Cybersecurity governance and digital transformation programs. Prior track record in an EPC, industrial manufacturing, or engineering services conglomerate is strongly preferred, candidate must understand how engineering and operational workflows (project controls, CAD/BIM, plant design, O&M) transition into a GCC delivery model. Oracle ecosystem depth (Oracle Fusion ERP, Oracle Primavera P6, Oracle HRMS/HCM) is a significant advantage given the group's core ERP and project management stack.
Desired Candidate Profile :
- Strategic technologist who can operate simultaneously as CIO (run & build), CISO (risk & protect), and CDO (innovate & transform) for the India GCC entity.
- Track record of building IT capabilities at greenfield sites, from cabling to cloud, and then running them as a mature managed service.
- Deep familiarity with India regulatory landscape: DPDP Act, IT Act, SEZ/non-SEZ compliance, statutory payroll and labor laws, working experience with ME (KSA more importantly) and respective regulations like NCA, ECC, etc.
- Strong vendor management and commercial acumen, able to negotiate contracts, manage SLAs, and challenge vendors constructively.
- Executive stakeholder management: ability to work across GCC leadership, Group IT, Group Security and business unit heads.
- Deep familiarity with EPC and industrial manufacturing IT landscapes, understands the technology requirements of project controls, engineering document management, CAD/BIM delivery, and O&M systems that GCC teams will support; has navigated the organizational and data challenges of offshoring these workflows to an India GCC.
- Oracle ecosystem fluency, practical understanding of Oracle Fusion (Finance, SCM, Projects), Oracle Primavera P6 EPPM, and Oracle HRMS/HCM as these are the group's core enterprise platforms; ability to drive Oracle-related implementations, integrations, and license management without over-dependence on the SI.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Human + AI operating model; has led or contributed to structured AI adoption programmes where AI tools augment human workforce productivity (co-pilots, intelligent automation, AI-assisted workflows) rather than being standalone technology pilots; understands AI governance, acceptable-use policy, and change management requirements in an enterprise context.
Core Leadership Attributes :
- Builder's mindset combined with operational discipline, equally comfortable designing an architecture and holding vendors accountable for delivery.
- Risk-aware decision-making, balances innovation velocity with security, compliance and business continuity.
- People leader, able to attract, develop and retain IT talent in a competitive Chennai GCC market.
- Culture carrier, champions an IT service culture with a digital-first, automation-first mindset across the GCC.
- AI-forward leader champions the Human + AI operating model across the GCC; role-models AI-augmented working practices and drives a culture where teams are actively upskilled to work alongside AI tools effectively and responsibly.
- Collaborative peer works as a trusted partner to Group IT, Cyber security, Digital, Finance, HR, Engineering and GCC business leadership, not in silo mode.
Role :
- This is the founding technology leadership role for India GCC in Chennai. The incumbent will be simultaneously responsible for CIO responsibilities at the GCC level (build and run all IT infrastructure, systems, and services aligned with Group CIO org), CISO responsibilities (establish cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance aligned to the parent group/Group CISO), and Group CDO responsibilities (lead digital transformation, data strategy, and AI/automation initiatives for the GCC and aligned with the wider group/Group CDO org).
- The role will set up the entire IT and digital estate from scratch i.e. physical infrastructure, networks, cloud related setup, enterprise applications, cybersecurity controls, and data capabilities, and then transition to operating, enhancing, and scaling the same over a multi-year horizon as the GCC grows from ~100 to 700+ headcount. This is not merely an IT operations role.
- It is a strategic leadership position that requires the vision to define where the GCC's technology capabilities need to be in 3-5 years, the execution rigor to deliver foundational infrastructure on time for Day 1, and the judgement to manage cybersecurity risk in a multi-entity, multi-geography group environment.
- Beyond Day 1, the role is equally responsible for defining and executing the roadmap to transition GCC IT from a build-phase organisation into a scaled, multi-tower structure with distinct capability towers for Infrastructure & Operations, Applications (Oracle/ERP), Cybersecurity, and Data/AI progressively increasing in-house depth and reducing reliance on external managed services as the GCC matures.
