Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Advisory
- Prepare, review, and file GST, TDS, and other statutory tax returns on time.
- Ensure timely payment of GST, TDS, Advance Tax, and other applicable taxes in compliance with Indian tax laws.
- Support in tax audits, assessments, and responding to queries or notices from tax authorities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in Direct and Indirect Tax regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
- Assist in tax planning, compliance reviews, and identification of opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax provisioning and reconciliation.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, Labour Laws, and other applicable statutory regulations.
- Manage ROC filings, Board resolutions, and Secretarial documentation in coordination with external consultants.
- Maintain statutory registers, licenses, and legal documentation in accordance with regulatory norms.
- Liaise with auditors, consultants, and government authorities for audits, filings, and clarifications.
- Track renewal schedules for registrations, licenses, and statutory filings.
Internal Controls & Documentation
- Review vendor contracts, agreements, and NDAs to ensure legal and tax compliance.
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing all necessary records and clarifications.
- Identify gaps in existing processes and recommend measures to strengthen internal controls.
- Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready documentation for all tax and legal compliance activities.
- Support the design and implementation of compliance monitoring systems and checklists.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Advisory
- Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, Operations, and Procurement teams to ensure organization-wide compliance alignment.
- Provide advisory support to management on new and upcoming regulatory changes.
- Educate internal teams on compliance policies, statutory obligations, and best practices.
- Ensure smooth coordination with external legal and tax advisors for specialized matters.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in tax compliance, statutory filings, and legal governance.
- Strong knowledge of Direct and Indirect Taxation, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
- Working understanding of Companies Act, FEMA, and Labour Law compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally / ERP systems, MS Excel, and online compliance tools.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage audits, assessments, and regulatory queries independently.
- Detail-oriented with a structured and proactive approach to problem-solving
