Role: Research Associate Location: Hyderabad No of Openings: 1 Faculty Name: Seung Hoon Lee Academic Area: Strategy Area Research Summary of the Faculty: Professor Seung Hoon Lee: Seung Hoon Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Strategy area at the Indian School of Business. His research interests include corporate governance, family-controlled conglomerates (e.g., Tata, Reliance), and national economic development. At ISB, he teaches a core on competitive strategy and an elective on global strategic management. Seung Hoon Lee received his Ph.D. in organization theory from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Roles & Responsibilities: You will: - Assistance to the faculty - Assisting in their ongoing research work which includes literature review, data collection, database management, and analysis. - Data collection - Scraping data from websites or documents and compilation into usable formats for analysis. - Database management - Linking different datasets, ensuring data quality, and processing raw data into processed datasets for modelling and estimation. - Data analysis - Econometric analysis for exploratory data analysis and causal estimation, including visualization and reporting, along with sound knowledge in signal processing/latent models. - Assistance to India Strategy Conference that will take place in mid December 2025. - Dealing with the logistics of an academic conference Required Skills and Qualifications: Qualifications: - B Tech from IIT or B Tech/Master from statistical institutions - MBA from IIM ABCs. Skills: - Experience working with big data systems, concepts, and tools. - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to every detail. - Strong team player with cross-functional skills. - Background in basic econometrics is highly desired. - Strong coding proficiency in Python, Stata, R. - Knowledge of various text mining algorithms and their use cases as well as text pre-processing and normalization techniques. - Exposure to economic problems and econometric techniques desirable - Motivation to learn and a strong work ethic.
