Role Overview
The Area Marketing Manager will be responsible for conceptualizing, implementing, and monitoring area-specific marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, customer engagement, and market penetration.
The role demands close collaboration with Sales, Field Marketing Managers (FMMs), Trade Teams, and Regional Marketing to ensure synchronized execution of marketing programs aligned with business growth objectives.
This is a leadership role requiring a blend of strategic thinking, field execution excellence, and strong analytical skills to drive measurable outcomes in awareness, adoption, and revenue growth across the assigned geography.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, localize, and implement area-specific marketing strategies aligned with regional sales goals and central brand guidelines.
- Develop and execute annual & seasonal marketing calendars with measurable KPIs for campaign impact and ROI.
- Leverage market intelligence, consumer insights, and competitor benchmarking to refine marketing approaches.
Campaign & Field Execution
- Ensure 100% compliance with brand guidelines in collateral usage, messaging, and customer engagement activities.
- Deploy and optimize marketing collaterals, digital assets, dealer activations, and point-of-sale materials across the area.
Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Trade Marketing, and Central Marketing for seamless execution of area initiatives.
- Act as the primary marketing liaison between field teams and corporate stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track, analyze, and report campaign effectiveness, customer engagement metrics, ROI, and competitive intelligence.
- Maintain dashboards and provide actionable insights to Regional & Central Marketing Teams.
- Ensure budget adherence, cost optimization, and effective vendor management for all area-
level marketing spends.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Background:
B.Sc Agriculture (mandatory)
Preferred: B.Sc Agri + M.Sc. Agri / MBA in Agri-Business Management (ABM) / PhD in Agriculture/Agri-Marketing
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in field/area/regional marketing within Agri-Input / FMCG / Agri Tech sectors.
- Languages: Proficiency in Assamese, Hindi, and English (other regional languages will be an added advantage).
Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale rural & urban BTL campaigns.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); exposure to CRM, ERP, and BI tools preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with proven ability to derive data-driven insights for decision-making.
- Strong leadership qualities with team management experience.
- Willingness to travel extensively (6070% of the time) within the assigned area
