Investment Banking Coverage Banker - Pharma/Healthcare & Chemicals

Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Investment Banking Coverage Banker to drive origination and execution across the Pharma, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors. The role involves managing client relationships, developing sector coverage strategies, driving deal execution and working closely with internal product teams across ECM, M&A, Private Equity and Structured Finance transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed sector and industry mapping across Pharma, Healthcare, Specialty Chemicals, CDMO, API, Hospitals, Diagnostics and Life Sciences segments.

- Identify and track target companies, emerging themes, market opportunities and strategic developments within the sector.

- Maintain updated databases, transaction comparables, industry case studies and market intelligence.

- Drive business development initiatives for target sectors and clients across public and private market transactions.

- Originate and execute mandates across Equity Capital Markets (IPO, QIP, Rights Issues, Block Deals), Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity Fundraising, Structured Finance Transactions

- Build and maintain strong relationships with promoters, CXOs, institutional investors, private equity funds and other key stakeholders.

- Develop sector-focused strategies and contribute to franchise expansion initiatives.

- Prepare pitch books, investment presentations, information memoranda and marketing materials.

- Develop positioning strategies and investment/deal theses tailored to client requirements.

- Present ideas and strategic solutions to clients and senior stakeholders.

- Drive transactions end-to-end along with internal and external stakeholders.

- Oversee due diligence, financial analysis, documentation and execution processes for live deals.

- Work closely with Research, IBD Product, Sales and Capital Markets teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.

- Support senior bankers in client coverage, relationship management and strategic initiatives.

Relevant Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

- 5-10 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking - Coverage / Origination.

- Strong understanding of Indian capital markets and investment banking products.

- Proven experience in Coverage / Origination within Investment Banking.

- Strong financial modelling, valuation, analytical and presentation skills.

- Ability to independently prepare deal collaterals, pitch books and transaction materials.

- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Capital IQ, FactSet, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to engage at CXO and promoter level.

- Ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear, concise and compelling manner.

- Ability to work efficiently across teams and drive transactions toward successful closure.

- Self-driven, detail-oriented & capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

- Positive attitude with strong willingness to learn and adapt.
