Investment Associate

Position Summary:

This is a Private Equitybacked real estate investment role, supported by one of the worlds largest sovereign wealth funds. The Investment Associate will support the Investment Management team across deal evaluation, investment processes, investor reporting, and post-investment asset management.

The role offers hands-on exposure to retail and retail-led mixed-use investments, close interaction with senior leadership, and involvement across the full investment lifecyclefrom underwriting to asset performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build, maintain, and review detailed Excel-based financial models for individual transactions and the overall fund portfolio

- Support end-to-end deal analysis, including underwriting, scenario analysis, and return evaluation

- Prepare Investment Committee presentations and supporting materials alongside the Investments team

- Assist in quarterly reporting and performance updates for investment partners and senior management

- Conduct market and competitive analysis for shopping centers and retail-led mixed-use developments

- Research and evaluate target markets to identify acquisition opportunities and investment themes

- Coordinate and review third-party reports (market studies, cost estimates, financial and tax analysis)

- Support development of operating and capital budgets for owned and target assets

- Participate in ad-hoc analytical and strategic projects within the Investment Management group

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong financial modelling skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel

- Experience preparing investment memorandums, IC decks, and investor presentations

- Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint

- Solid understanding of core financial concepts (NPV, IRR, time value of money)

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reasoning abilities

- Clear written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to senior stakeholders

- Detail-oriented, structured thinker with the ability to manage multiple workstreams

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education: Tier-1 institutions only

- Undergraduates must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience

Experience:

- 1-3 years of experience in financial modelling, investment analysis, or investor materials

- Prior experience in real estate preferred (PE, Investment Management, IB, or Advisory)

- Overall Experience: 57 years of relevant post-qualification experience desirable but not mandatory
