Investment Analyst - Private Equity/Venture Capital Fund - Startup

The Investment Analyst role at the fund is sector-agnostic and execution-focused, providing hands-on exposure across the entire investment lifecycle, including idea generation, deal sourcing, diligence, execution and exit analysis for the Private Equity (PE) and Venture Capital (VC) fund.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Research, Sourcing & Analysis:

- Brainstorm and originate new investment ideas across energy transition, climate tech and other emerging sectors (SaaS, AI, Deep Tech, Fintech, Consumer Tech, etc.)

- Track macro trends, technology shifts, regulatory developments and evolving business models

- Scout companies and founders through ecosystem mapping, networks, events, and proprietary outreach

- Build and maintain a strong deal pipeline, including off-market opportunities

- Conduct sector, company, and competitive analysis, assessing business models, unit economics, scalability, and risks

Financial Modelling, Valuation & Due Diligence

- Build and maintain financial models (DCF, LBO, comparable company analysis) to evaluate valuation and returns

- Support commercial, financial, legal, and operational due diligence through primary and secondary research

- Prepare investment memos, analyses and presentations for investment committee discussions

Portfolio Monitoring & Exit Analysis

- Track portfolio company performance, financials, and key operating KPIs

- Assist with quarterly reporting and value-creation initiatives

- Support exit planning and analysis, including identifying strategic buyers, secondary transactions, and IPO readiness

- Analyze exit scenarios, timing, and return outcomes across portfolio companies

Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement

- Set up and manage meetings with founders, co-investors, industry experts and advisors

- Represent the fund at industry events, demo days and conferences

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field; CFA/ CA or MBA is preferred.

- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Tier I - PE/VC, IB, consulting, strategy or growth/startup roles

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to quickly understand new sectors, technologies and business models

- High ownership mindset with strong attention to detail

- Excellent communication and presentation skills
