Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise technology solutions for mission-critical banking applications.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud-native technologies, microservices, API-led integration, and application modernization.
This role requires the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust technology solutions while aligning architectural decisions with business objectives, enterprise standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
You will collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, security, product, and business teams to define technology roadmaps, drive modernization initiatives, and ensure the delivery of high-availability customer-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise & Solution Architecture:
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for complex, enterprise-scale, multi-tier applications.
- Define architecture blueprints, reference architectures, solution diagrams, and technical standards.
- Design scalable, cloud-native, API-first, microservices-based, and distributed systems.
- Ensure architectural decisions align with enterprise technology strategy, business priorities, and security requirements.
Technology Strategy & Application Modernization:
- Drive legacy application modernization, including migration toward cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.
- Establish architectural patterns using Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and event-driven systems.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve scalability, resilience, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to long-term technology roadmaps and reusable enterprise architecture practices.
Cloud, Integration & Scalability:
- Architect enterprise solutions using AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Define API strategies covering RESTful APIs, GraphQL, enterprise integration, and secure service communication.
- Establish architecture patterns for high availability, disaster recovery, fault tolerance, auto-scaling, and business continuity.
- Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, containerization, and CI/CD practices.
Architecture Governance, Security & Compliance:
- Lead architecture reviews and participate in governance forums and technology evaluation committees.
- Establish design principles, reusable standards, and architecture governance frameworks.
- Ensure solutions adhere to secure-by-design principles and applicable banking and financial services requirements, including PCI-DSS, SOX, and GLBA, where relevant.
- Partner with security and risk teams to address architectural risks, data protection, audit, and compliance requirements.
Data Architecture & Enterprise Integration:
- Define data architecture and integration strategies across relational and NoSQL databases.
- Evaluate database technologies and recommend suitable solutions based on performance, scalability, security, and business needs.
- Ensure effective data modeling, data governance, and secure information management.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering, infrastructure, and security teams.
- Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and implementation approaches to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, technical leads, and fellow architects.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 - 15 years of experience in software engineering, application development, or enterprise architecture.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Solution Architecture.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale, customer-facing applications and complex distributed systems.
- Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, microservices, SOA, event-driven architecture, DDD, API-first design, and cloud-native architecture.
- Hands-on architectural experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, enterprise integration, containerized applications, high availability, disaster recovery, and cloud security.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Working knowledge of at least two technical domains, such as cloud computing, infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, application development, or database technologies.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in banking, financial services, or FinTech, preferably within regulated enterprise environments.
- Understanding of consumer banking, digital banking, custodial banking, financial data security, and regulatory compliance.
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Golang, C#, C++, or Ruby.
- Familiarity with application security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and secure architecture practices.
- Exposure to TOGAF or other enterprise architecture and governance frameworks.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
- Familiarity with Agile/SAFe delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, and enterprise stakeholder management.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A senior technology professional who combines deep solution architecture expertise with strategic thinking, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to lead complex technology transformation initiatives in an enterprise or banking environment.
