Job Title: Assistant Manager - Direct Taxation
Qualification & Experience:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
- 4-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in Direct Taxation
- Strong working knowledge of the Income-tax Act, Tax Treaties (DTAA), and related rules
Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct Tax Compliance
- Ensure end-to-end TDS compliance for the group, including accurate computation, timely deposit, and filing of statutory returns.
- Assist in preparation and filing of income tax returns and tax audit reports for group entities.
- File Form 61A for specified financial transactions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor compliance timelines and address any gaps or risks proactively.
2. Transfer Pricing Compliance
- Assist in formulating and implementing transfer pricing strategies in line with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants for benchmarking studies and transfer pricing documentation.
- Support annual Transfer Pricing compliance filings, including Form 3CEB and related documentation.
3. Litigation & Assessments
- Represent the organization before tax authorities and make submissions in connection with assessments, audits, and proceedings.
- Draft responses to tax notices, scrutiny queries, and information requests.
- Coordinate with tax consultants for preparation and filing of appeals.
- Follow up on refunds, rectifications, and assessment orders to ensure timely resolution.
4. Tax Planning & Optimization
- Support tax planning initiatives by evaluating opportunities for optimization while ensuring statutory compliance.
- Devise efficient tax strategies and recommend process improvements.
- Assist senior management with tax-related inputs for strategic decision-making.
- Support tax provisioning and computation of current and deferred tax liabilities.
5. Regulatory Updates & Advisory
- Analyze and assess the impact of changes in tax laws, including amendments proposed in the Finance Bill.
- Keep leadership informed about regulatory changes and their potential business impact.
- Provide practical insights to ensure ongoing compliance and risk mitigation.
