About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Finance Lead Manager to partner with business leaders at Scaler in driving financial performance and enabling growth. This role requires a strong mix of financial acumen, business partnering, and leadership skills. The individual will act as a bridge between finance, business divisions (including Websources), controllership, and legal, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while driving accountability for budgets, investments, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering & Strategy:
- Act as the primary finance business partner to functional leaders across Scalers business divisions, including Online , Enterprise & Offline Business
- Collaborate with business teams to ensure alignment with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets, actively enabling achievement of financial and operational goals.
- Support business leaders with financial modelling, scenario planning, and ROI analyses to guide capital allocation and resource prioritization.
Performance Management:
- Own and drive preparation of monthly/quarterly business P&L reviews, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financials against budgets.
- Identify risks and opportunities in performance, flagging variances proactively and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure transparency of key business metrics for leadership, enabling a strong performance culture.
Governance & Coordination:
- Work closely with the Controllership, Legal, and HR teams to ensure compliance, accuracy, and governance in financial processes.
- Drive cross-functional coordination to streamline reporting, budgeting, and contracting processes.
- Act as a go-getter in resolving operational bottlenecks across teams, ensuring finance is an enabler to business growth.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of 23 finance managers, building capability and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Drive accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement within the business finance team.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institute.
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in business finance, FP&A, or corporate finance.
- Proven experience in business partnering with functional leaders, driving financial planning, and reporting processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a go-getter attitude.
