About the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of insurance software products from ideation to delivery.
- Translate business requirements into detailed product specifications and development roadmaps.
- Oversee and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality product releases.
- Drive user experience and design decisions with a customer-first mindset.
- Engage with clients, internal stakeholders, and partners to gather requirements and market feedback.
- Conduct competitive analysis and stay up to date with emerging trends in InsurTech and full-stack technologies.
- Manage agile development cycles, sprint planning, and backlog grooming in coordination with the technical team.
- Lead product demos, go-to-market planning, and solution training for internal and external users.
- Assist the product team by providing expertise/suggestions in the areas of design, storytelling, interaction design, visual design, user research and user behavior.
- Proactively identify risks and issues, assist with gap analysis and develop proof-of-concepts.
- Mentor and manage a team of developers and product specialists.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in full-stack software development and microservices-based architecture.
- Hands-on technical expertise in React.js, Next.js, Node.js, and modern web application architecture.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the insurance domain (general).
- Experience in developing or managing commercial insurance products or platforms is a strong plus.
- Strong experience in agile methodologies, product backlog management, and stakeholder communication.
- Prior experience leading cross-functional technical teams or product engineering squads.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative skills to support product decisions, define KPIs, prioritization skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, MCA or a related field; MBA or Product Management certification is a plus.
Preferred:
- Experience with DevOps, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Familiarity with insurance regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
- Background in enterprise SaaS product development.
