Interim Generalist / Operations Manager - Winding Down Assignment (German MNC)

About the Organization:

A Germany-headquartered multinational trading company in the solar sector is undergoing a planned winding-down of its India operations. To ensure a smooth transition, we are seeking an experienced professional to take charge of operational oversight on an interim basis.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Generalist / Operations Manager who will act as the central point of coordination between the HQ team in Europe and the India staff. The role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring expertise in managing operations, leading people through change, and executing an orderly scale-down of business activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the primary interface between HQ (Europe) and India staff.

2. Manage day-to-day business operations, ensuring compliance with HQ directives.

3. Oversee logistics, warehouse, stock, and inventory management including high-value inventory disposal.

4. Work within the company's ERP system for operational processes and reporting.

5. Handle vendor, supplier, and partner communications during the transition.

6. Lead, guide, and support the remaining local team as the on-ground go-to person.

7. Ensure seamless closure of operations with discipline and efficiency.

Candidate Profile:

- Experience: 20- 35 years in operations / general management, preferably in trading, logistics, or supply chain environments.

- Education: Engineer / MBA / Chartered Accountant preferred.

- Prior experience in descaling operations and high-value inventory disposal is strongly preferred.

- Proven track record of leading teams in complex, time-sensitive environments.

- Strong communication skills; English proficiency required.

- Immediate availability or within 15 days.

- Retired active professionals are welcome.

- Solar industry background not mandatory
