Intercontinental Hotels Group - Specialist - Record To Report/General Ledger

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Finance Professional with strong expertise in General Ledger (GL), Record to Report (R2R) processes, and working knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP. The ideal candidate should bring deep domain knowledge in financial accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting cycles, along with strong analytical and process-improvement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage end-to-end Record to Report (R2R) activities including journal entries, month-end and year-end closing, and ledger maintenance.

- Oversee and ensure accuracy of General Ledger (GL) accounting and account reconciliations.

- Ensure compliance with IFRS / US GAAP standards in all financial reporting and accounting activities.

- Prepare financial statements, management reports, variance analysis, and audit schedules.

- Review balance sheets, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong internal controls.

- Partner with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, FP&A, Audit) to ensure smooth close cycles.

- Identify opportunities for process automation, standardization, and efficiency within R2R.

- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely submission of documentation.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 8 - 15 years of experience in R2R / GL / Financial Accounting roles.

- Strong expertise in IFRS / US GAAP compliance and accounting principles.

- Hands-on experience in month-end close, ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

- Solid understanding of accounting systems (SAP / Oracle / similar ERP).

- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- CA / CMA / MBA Finance (preferred but not mandatory).

- Experience in shared services, global finance, or multinational environments.
