Role Overview:
The AVP - Strategic Finance & Planning will be a critical part of the core management team, responsible for driving the company's financial strategy, long-range planning, and capital allocation decisions.
This role requires a blend of top-tier financial acumen, strong analytical skills, and the ability to partner directly with the CEO and functional heads to accelerate growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process, establishing challenging yet achievable financial targets.
- Develop and maintain the long-range financial model (3-5 years) to support strategic decision-making, fundraising, and new business initiatives.
- Drive detailed P&L analysis, variance reporting, and deep-dive analysis on key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify growth drivers and areas for cost optimization.
Business Partnership & Decision Support:
- Act as the primary financial partner to two or more functional leaders (e.g., Marketing, Product, Operations), providing them with data-driven insights to manage their budgets and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate the financial viability of new product launches, expansion into new markets, and large-scale capital expenditure projects (ROI analysis).
Investor Relations & Fundraising:
- Manage the preparation of board materials, investor decks, and financial presentations for both internal stakeholders and external investors.
- Lead due diligence efforts and financial modeling during potential fundraising rounds (Equity/Debt).
Process Excellence:
- Implement best-in-class financial processes, tools, and systems to scale the FP&A function in a hyper-growth environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education: Full-Time MBA from a Tier-1 B-School (IIMs, ISB, XLRI, FMS, MDI, etc.)
Experience: 6-10 years of total professional experience, with a significant portion in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or Corporate Strategy/FP&A in a top-tier firm.
Skills:
- Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills.
- Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate them into simple, actionable business insights.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, comfortable presenting to the C-suite and Board.
- High ownership, proactive mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment
