Intellect Design Arena - Senior Manager - Data Migration

Role Overview:

The Data Migration Lead will own the end-to-end data migration lifecycle across enterprise-scale transformation programs and large relational databases. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining migration strategy, designing ETL patterns, leading a team of data specialists, and ensuring data integrity, governance, and successful cutover with minimal business disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning:

- Define and drive the overall data migration roadmap and strategy (extraction, transformation, loading, validation, reconciliation)

- Align migration strategy with business and system integration goals

- Plan and orchestrate mock migrations, load rehearsals, and cutover activities

Technical Design & Execution:

- Design and document migration architecture, data mappings, and transformation rules

- Build reconciliation frameworks across source and target systems

- Lead development and optimization of ETL pipelines

- Implement data cleansing and enrichment logic using SQL, PL/SQL, or ETL tools

Team & Delivery Leadership:

- Lead and mentor a team of data migration specialists and analysts

- Assign tasks, prioritize work, and ensure high-quality deliverables

- Collaborate with functional teams, architects, DBAs, and program managers

Governance, Quality & Risk:

- Establish data quality frameworks including validation rules and reconciliation reports

- Implement exception handling mechanisms

- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and audit standards (PII, consent, retention)

Stakeholder Management:

- Present migration strategy, progress, and risks to governance boards

- Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all data-related issues

- Support testing phases, UAT, and post-go-live stabilization

Skills & Qualifications:

Must Have:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

- 7+ years of overall IT experience

- 5-7+ years in data migration / ETL / large-scale database migrations

- Experience working with enterprise platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP, Cloud Data Platforms)

- Proven experience leading 2-3 large enterprise data migration projects

- Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, data modeling, and ETL frameworks

- Experience with at least one major ETL tool/platform

- Strong understanding of data quality, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation techniques

- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver under tight timelines
