Vice President - Product Design VP - Product Design 1. The position : - Manage all aspects of all interfaces through which users interact with Innoviti's platform. This would include understanding various types of users and their interaction needs and interfaces. - Develop processes for rapid prototyping of designs, gathering and refining designs based on user feedback and managing design communication to engineering. - Develop metrics for measuring the impact of design and constantly monitor it to improve the performance. 2. The role we expect is : - A deliverer of discontinuity - An identifier and orchestrator of design excellence - A driver of operational excellence - A key contributor, beyond role, into the leadership team 3. The key deliveries : - Excellence in design that appeals to users and delights them. - Significantly enhance accuracy and predictability in deliveries of design with dramatic reduction in turn-around times. - Development of design processes that can manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. - Create a design metric system to evaluate the success of a design. Duties/Activities/Interactions : 1. Understand the existing product design processes for translating use cases into experiences and organize them. 2. Interface with external and internal user groups to understand their functional areas and design a framework for capturing requirements. 3. Work with Technology, Operations and End-users (Cashiers, Merchant HOs) to detail out experiences that will be delivered to the various constituents. 4. Work with Marketing to understand how the product delivery and post-delivery experiences can be streamlined to create delight in every aspect of the customer's journey with Innoviti. 5. Identify all design risks and track them. 6. Create a design metric framework to evaluate their success. 7. Implement design management systems that can manage complex systems with multiple user interfaces. 8. Rapidly understand the key architecture elements of Innoviti's products and their relevance to the business context. 9. Work with product marketing team to understand product roadmap. 10. Build and manage a team of highly talented product and visual designers to deliver to the roadmap. 11. Coach team into modern design practices while maintaining rigour and discipline of good design processes. 12. Use design as a strategic tool to build and sustain competitive advantage by architecting systems that : - Can be easily enhanced to enable new features, - Are inherently robust and therefore low maintenance and - Are easily explainable to any new person working on it. 13. Keep the business relevant and ahead of the market by constantly interpreting customer, market and technology trends. 14. Provide the leadership to various teams within the division to help them adapt to these trends. 15. Constantly influence the market through participation in industry forums and market events to ensure positive brand recall. 16. Manage regulatory and partner interface in the ecosystem to spot underlying risks and opportunities. 17. Provide regular reporting to the leadership team on progress against the business plan, risks and support required. Capabilities : Skill set repertoire : - Good understanding of design of user interfaces. - Expertise in formal design capture and representation systems. - Experience of delivering multi-user, multi-use case systems with industrial grade reliability. - Experience of discovering problems lying within symptoms shared by users. - Eye for detail. - Ability to visualize physical and virtual systems and their interactions. A high-quality design development exposure- with results &amp; capabilities to prove : - Transformative process management - Experience in a high-performance organisation - An enriched perspective is desirable e.g. cross-functional business exposure, Internet business exposure. Values/Drivers : - Fundamentals of ethics, respect and professionalism. - Self-motivated, result driven, with an urge/tenacity to excel - A believer in people Profile : - Bachelors or Masters in Visual or Product Design - Minimum 15 years of experience with atleast 5 years as head of a design team. - Atleast one experience in heading an end-to-end design project involving a multi-user, multi-interface, multi-device system with usage at scale. - Experience with managing design processes of physical and virtual products. - Experience in refining design for mass manufacturing.
