Job Description - Delivery Manager (Life Sciences)

Work Experience: 18 - 20 Years

Role Overview:

The Delivery Manager is accountable for end-to-end delivery of large, complex Life Sciences programs and demonstrates domain expertise, delivery excellence, stakeholder leadership, and capability building aligned with organizational governance and quality frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery & Program Governance:

- Own end-to-end delivery (scope, schedule, cost, quality) for large/multi-tower engagements

- Ensure strict adherence to organizational delivery processes, quality standards, and governance

- Drive Agile/Hybrid execution, including release planning and tracking

- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and dependencies

Client & Stakeholder Management:

- Act as single point of accountability for client delivery

- Build trusted advisor relationships with business and IT stakeholders

- Lead governance forums, executive reviews, and escalation management

Financial & Business Ownership:

- Own P&L (revenue, margin, forecasting, cost optimization)

- Drive productivity, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives

- Support growth through mining, renewals, and transformation opportunities

Delivery Excellence & Metrics:

- Define and track KPIs / SLAs / outcome-based metrics for data-driven delivery

- Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards (GxP/FDA where applicable)

- Institutionalize best practices and continuous improvement

People & Capability Development:

- Lead and mentor large distributed teams (50-200+)

- Build future-ready delivery capability across technology and domain

- Drive talent development, succession, and high-performance culture

Domain Requirements (Life Sciences):

Mandatory experience in one or more:

- Clinical / R&D / Pharmacovigilance

- Commercial (Sales, CRM, Patient Services)

- Manufacturing / Quality / Regulatory

Nice to Have and key differentiating skills:

- Experience with Life Sciences platforms (Veeva, SAP, Oracle, etc.)

- Exposure to cloud, data platforms, and digital transformation programs

Experience & Qualifications:

- 15-20+ years of IT experience with significant delivery leadership exposure

- Proven track record managing large programs / multi-vendor engagements

- Strong experience in Agile, DevOps, enterprise platforms

- Bachelor's degree (Engineering/Science); MBA preferred
