Job Summary :  Data scientist would be integral part of Decision Science Unit and would act as chief architect of the unstructured data strategy and machine learning for the bank.   Key Responsibilities :  Work directly with teams in managing and analyzing large databases specifically :  - Setting up and maintaining GB/TB size structure/unstructured database  - Collapse data from multiple external sources (Social media, blogs, web sites) and structure them in form which can provide actionable outcomes  - Performing data integration, manipulation, and querying for purposes of reporting and more sophisticated analytics  - Playing a significant role in team problem solving specifically around data architecture  - Hands-on in big data analytics, machine learning and natural language processing covering a wide range of tools and technologies  - Machine learning, NLP (n-gram, co-allocation, tf-idf, sentence pattern mining) models to solve various business problems like article classification, document clustering and pattern recognition  - Use advance analytics and machine learning techniques to analyse data to solve complex business problems which result in business impact.  - Should be able to understand the business requirements and marry it with analyzing problem data architecture.  - Provide data mining and analytical support on projects, including conducting analysis, building data intensive models/tools, summarize and interpreting results  - Act as through partner on database related issues. Should actively build up knowledge of new tools and techniques being used for managing structure/unstructured data  Education and Work Experience Required :  - Post-graduate in Computer Applications/Engineering/Mathematics (with strong quantitative background)  - 5-8 years -experience in working with programming on SQL Reporting Services 2005/2008, PL/SQL (Oracle/MySQL) and T-SQL (MS SQL server), SAS (Base/Mainframe), JAVA, C++, .net etc.  - Text Analytics (Sentence Pattern Mining, n-gram analysis, LDA for topic modelling), Machine, Learning Algorithms for Classification (SVM, Multinomial Na- ve Bayes, K-NN), Recommendation System (Collaborative) & Market Basket Analysis (Apriori Algorithm).  - Keep functional knowledge of HBASE, Hadoop, HIVE, PIG, NOSQL, Spark etc.  Key Competencies :  - Should have demonstrated strongly both business sense and robust programming skills  - Ability to marry data base structuring techniques with solving business problems.  - Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions  - Experience in data manipulation and handling large datasets; Data extraction, data transformation (standardization, cleaning, data repair, matching, and de-duping) and refinement   - Strong programming skills in SQL Server, SAS, MS Access, VBA   - Strong knowledge of packages like SSIS and SSRS  - Managed unstructured/non-relational data. Has deep knowledge of Hadoop, PIG, HIVE.   - Ability to deal with ambiguity and ever evolving client requirements  - Highly entrepreneurial and innovative mindset  - Experience in working with relational databases; ability to identify needed data elements to support reporting requests  - Good written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in both written and spoken English -prior experience in a multi-national environment desirable.  - Ability to work under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines
