
Position Summary:
Indofast is seeking a proactive, on-ground government partnerships professional to drive site acquisition and institutional coordination for EV battery swapping infrastructure across Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Reporting to the Head - Partnerships, the Deputy Manager will serve as the South Zone lead for all government-facing execution, from securing sites and permissions to supporting tenders and policy-linked opportunities. The role calls for someone who is street-smart, persistent, and confident navigating bureaucratic systems, with a strong bias for closure on permissions, NOCs, and approvals.

Key Responsibilities
Government Partnerships & Liaison:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with state departments, municipal corporations, development authorities, transport undertakings, DISCOMs, PSUs, and other regulatory bodies.
- Represent Indofast in official meetings and workshops, presenting proposals, expansion plans, and compliance documentation on behalf of the company.
- Track relevant policy developments, schemes, tenders, Smart City initiatives, and public infrastructure programmes that can enable EV and battery swapping deployments in the South Zone.
Government Site Identification & Acquisition
- Identify high-potential government-owned and PSU properties suitable for battery swapping stations.
- Conduct preliminary feasibility assessments, including access, power availability, consumer catchment, operational constraints, and alignment with utility and municipal norms.
NOC, Permissions & Regulatory Compliance:
- Lead end-to-end coordination for land/NOC approvals, wayleaves, electrical sanctions, safety clearances, and any department-specific documentation.
- Work closely with DISCOMs and electricity boards for load sanction, metering, and connection approvals.
- Ensure adherence to all government compliance requirements and timelines, proactively resolving issues before they escalate.
Cross-Functional Execution:
- Sync with Deployment, Operations, Engineering, and Business Development teams for surveys, drawings, technical submissions, and follow-ups with authorities.
- Provide accurate on-ground inputs to support network planning, phasing, and prioritisation of sites in the South Zone.
Tenders, EOIs & Government Proposals
- Identify relevant tenders, EOIs, RFPs, and government opportunities across the South Zone.
- Draft, refine, and compile technical and commercial proposals, integrating inputs from Engineering, Finance, Deployment, and Legal.
- Ensure all submissions meet eligibility, format, documentation, and deadline requirements; maintain trackers for queries, corrigenda, submissions, and outcomes.
- Maintain trackers for tender queries, corrigenda, submission deadlines, and result notifications.
- Support post-bid presentations, clarifications, negotiations, and compliance responses with issuing authorities.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related fields; MBA is an added advantage.
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in government liaison, site acquisition, regulatory coordination, or public-sector stakeholder management preferably in EV, energy, mobility, telecom, or infra.
- Strong understanding of state government and local body structures across South India.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder processes, negotiate with officials, and drive outcomes within defined timelines.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong documentation, drafting, and compliance orientation (letters, notes, proposals, and file movement).
- High ownership, persistence, and comfort working in field-intensive and fast-paced environments.
Language Requirements:
- Kannada - Mandatory.
- Tamil and Telugu - Strong advantage.
