Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC)  Researcher - Multiple Vacancies  Languages - Tamil Preferred  As part of its ongoing recruitment drive, I-PAC is looking at expanding its Digital Media, Research and Communications (DMRC) Team. Current members of our team come with a broad range of experience, from managing political communications at leading agencies, running successful digital campaigns for past elections, to serving stints as researchers for Members of Parliaments, and managing external relations at International Governmental Organizations.  Who is I-PAC looking for :   - As a researcher at I-PAC you would be expected to complete a broad variety of research tasks including, but not limited to issue primers, constituency reports, briefing documents, and speech inputs  - Research at I-PAC is not academic, but is conducted with a view to inform campaign decisions. Therefore you should be someone with an eye for spotting and capturing voter aspirations  - You would enjoy access to information and inputs from a wide variety of sources; the expectation from you would be to process all this information and advise clear campaign actionables  - On a day-to-day basis your role would comprise researching secondary (mostly) and primary sources and produce timely and extensive research documents. These could take the final form of manifestos, speech inputs, constituency reports and/or published articles (non-academic)  - You must possess the initiative to work independently, follow through on all projects and meet strict deadlines while remaining highly detail-oriented. You should have excellent written and verbal communications skills  - Creativity and enthusiasm are well-rewarded at I-PAC; you will be given the liberty to propose and execute projects as long as they are aligned with the goals of the organisation  - You must be open to travelling for work, when required, often at short notices;  - We are looking for someone who is open to working long hours, sometimes on Sundays and holidays, and once the elections draw closer - all days of the week  Educational Background & Work Experience :   - A Master's degree (preferred) from a Tier 1 Institute  - A Bachelor's degree with previous relevant experience in electoral campaign research, policy research firms, law firms or market research can be considered in lieu of a Master- s  - Must be fluent in reading, speaking and writing English, knowledge of Tamil is mandatory  - Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office (including excel)  About Digital Media, Research and Communications Team :   - Our DMRC Team conceptualizes and executes innovative digital campaigns that not only mobilize our target audiences in the virtual world but also maintain a synergy with all our on-ground activities and multiply its impact many-fold. We make use of various channels of communications such as social media, mobile marketing, etc. to reach out to our audiences and initiate real-time, two-way communication with them on a daily basis. With carefully crafted messages, we manage the various channels of communications of the leaders such as their official social media properties, their media interactions, speech inputs, and briefing notes for communication with various stakeholders. We conduct extensive research from the purview of political communications and conceptualize and execute innovative leader centric communications campaigns. The precise, often clinical nature of our interventions across various channels enables us to trigger positive conversations around the leader.  About I-PAC :   Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) (est.
