Role Overview:

IndiaLaw LLP is seeking a skilled and driven Senior Associate to join its Arbitration Team at the Mumbai (Fort) office. The role involves handling both domestic and international arbitration matters and working closely with partners on complex disputes.

The Senior Associate will be responsible for managing arbitration matters across various stages of proceedings, including pre-dispute advisory, conduct of arbitral proceedings, and enforcement-related actions. The role also requires a high degree of independence in handling matters, along with the ability to provide strategic support to partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Handle arbitration matters from the pre-dispute stage through the conduct of arbitral proceedings and enforcement of awards.

- Draft and review arbitration-related documents, including pleadings, statements of claim and defence, rejoinders, applications, procedural submissions, and written arguments.

- Appear before arbitral tribunals, courts, and other relevant forums in connection with arbitration and related proceedings, as required.

- Conduct detailed legal research on arbitration and dispute resolution issues and provide strategic and practical inputs for case preparation and execution.

- Assist partners in developing case strategy, preparing for hearings, and advising clients on arbitration-related issues.

- Coordinate effectively with clients, arbitral tribunals, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure smooth conduct of proceedings.

- Manage procedural aspects of arbitration matters, including timelines, filings, compliance with procedural orders, and case documentation.

Eligibility & Qualifications:

- LLB from a recognized university.

- 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in arbitration and dispute resolution.

- Demonstrated experience in drafting pleadings and arbitration submissions with strong research and advocacy skills.

- Prior experience in independently handling arbitration matters is preferred
