Analyst/Associate - Investment Banking - Global & Cross border M&A - IT Services & Technology

Location: Chennai (other locations on case to case basis)

Illum Strategic Partners is a global, cross-border investment banking firm advising mid-market IT services and technology companies on M&A transactions. Our clients are primarily US-based founders, and our buyer universe includes global strategic acquirers and private equity investors across the US, Europe, and other markets.

We are looking to hire Investment Banking Analysts / Associates to join our execution team in Chennai.

Role & Responsibilities

- Research and analysis of IT services and technology sub-segments (e.g., digital engineering, cloud, data, telecom, enterprise applications, etc.)

- Industry, company, and buyer research to support sell-side mandates (IT services / technology focus)

- Identifying and profiling seller targets (founder-led companies, PE-backed platforms, carve-outs)

- Building and maintaining sector-specific databases of companies, founders, buyers, and investors

- Preparation of teasers, CIMs, management presentations, and buyer materials

- Supporting outreach to potential sellers and buyers, including NDA tracking, diligence support, and transaction execution

- Working closely with partners on live, cross-border M&A mandates and origination efforts

Ideal Background

1. 1-3 years experience in:

A. Investment Banking (boutique or mid-market)

B. Big4 Transaction Advisory / Financial Due Diligence / Valuations

C. Corporate Development or Strategy (preferably IT services / technology)

2. Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills

3. Highly driven self-starter comfortable working with limited structure

4. Strong interest in M&A, IT services, and technology sectors

5. Comfortable operating in a lean, founder-led environment
