
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Head Purchase to lead procurement operations for formulation manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, procurement of packaging materials, inventory planning, cost optimization, and compliance within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities for formulation manufacturing operations.
- Manage sourcing and procurement of packaging materials, raw materials, and indirect materials.
- Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to achieve cost optimization while maintaining supply continuity.
- Collaborate with production, planning, quality, and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and drive effective material planning to minimize stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Track market trends, supplier performance, and material costs to identify savings opportunities.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, and commercial matters.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team while driving process improvements and operational excellence.
Required Skills:
- 6-9 years of experience in procurement within the pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing industry.
- Strong experience in procurement of packaging materials; exposure to APIs and excipients is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in vendor development, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Good understanding of inventory management, supply planning, and procurement best practices.
- Knowledge of GMP, regulatory compliance, and quality standards applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP systems and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Pharmacy, Commerce, or Engineering.
- MBA in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or Operations is preferred.
