
Solution Architect - Finance & Accounting (APAC)

Role Overview:
- IBM Consulting is seeking a senior Solution Architect for the ASEAN market with deep Finance & Accounting (F&A) expertise preferably with some cross functional knowledge of Procurement operations
- This role is pivotal in client-facing solution design, analytical deal shaping, and end-to-end transformation architecture, covering Target Operating Model (TOM), Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), and transition to steady-state delivery.
- The ideal candidate combines strong financial domain depth, exceptional analytical capability, and hands-on delivery experience, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, outcome-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Architecture:
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for Finance & Accounting transformations (OTC, PTP, RTR, FP&A), with integration to Procurement and adjacent functions.
- Design Target Operating Models (TOMs) including governance, service delivery constructs, location strategy, and role definitions.
- Drive Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) initiatives aligned to standardization, simplification, and automation objectives.
- Develop quantitative, data-driven solution models, including headcount sizing, productivity assumptions, transition curves, and business cases.
Client Engagement & Deal Support:
- Act as a client-facing Solution Architect for ASEAN pursuits, workshops, and executive discussions.
- Partner with Sales and Delivery leaders to shape compelling, value-based proposals.
- Lead solution storytelling with strong financial modelling, analytics, and insight-driven narratives.
- Translate client pain points into scalable, outcome-oriented solutions.
Delivery & Transition Support:
- Support deal transition, mobilization, and early delivery phases, ensuring solution integrity is maintained post-signing.
- Collaborate closely with delivery teams to ensure feasibility, scalability, and risk mitigation.
- Provide architecture governance during early delivery to stabilize operations and achieve target outcomes.
Transformation & Digital Enablement:
- Identify opportunities for automation, analytics, and AI-led enablement within F&A and Procurement processes.
- (Bonus) Contribute technical perspective on RPA, workflow, analytics, or AI platforms to strengthen solution differentiation.
- Ensure solutions are aligned with IBM's digital and transformation frameworks.
Required Experience & Skills:
Core Requirements:
- 18+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting operations, transformation, or consulting roles.
- Cross-functional exposure to Procurement / P2P and integration with F&A processes.
Proven experience in:
- Target Operating Model (TOM) design
- Business Process Re-engineering (BPR)
- Large-scale transformation or outsourcing solutions
- Extensive client-facing experience, including workshops, solution presentations, and executive discussions.
- Exceptional analytical and numerical capability - strong comfort with financial models, assumptions, and scenario analysis.
- Hands-on delivery experience in global or regional engagements.
Industry Experience (Preferred):
- Industrial Manufacturing
- Distribution / Supply Chain-led enterprises
Additional / Preferred Qualifications (Bonus):
- Exposure to automation technologies (RPA, workflow, analytics, AI) from a solution or architecture standpoint.
- Prior experience supporting shared services, GBS, or BPO models.
- Experience working across ASEAN markets with cultural and regulatory awareness.
- Ability to bridge business, operations, and technology in solution design.
