Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Assistant Manager - Project Finance to support financing activities for renewable energy and infrastructure projects. The incumbent will play a key role in financial modelling, debt raising, financial closure, lender coordination, and compliance with financing requirements from project conception through loan disbursement.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of project finance structures, banking processes, and infrastructure financing, with hands-on experience in renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Finance & Financial Modelling:

- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

- Prepare detailed project financial projections, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, IRR, Equity IRR, Project IRR, DSCR, LLCR, PLCR, NPV, break-even analysis, and sensitivity scenarios.

- Evaluate project viability and bankability based on technical and commercial assumptions.

- Support bid evaluations and investment decisions through financial analysis.

Debt Raising & Financial Closure:

- Prepare Information Memorandums, financing proposals, CMA data, and other documents for debt syndication.

- Coordinate with banks, financial institutions, NBFCs, multilateral agencies, and infrastructure funds for project financing.

- Support debt structuring, term sheet negotiations, sanction discussions, and financial closure.

- Assist in refinancing and working capital arrangements for operational assets.

Lender Coordination & Compliance:

- Liaise with lenders, legal counsel, technical consultants, insurance advisors, Independent Engineers, and Chartered Accountants throughout the financing process.

- Ensure timely fulfilment of all Conditions Precedent (CPs) and pre-disbursement conditions for loan drawdowns.

- Coordinate execution of financing documents, security creation, escrow arrangements, and charge registration.

- Monitor post-disbursement lender covenants, reporting obligations, and compliance requirements.

Project Documentation & Due Diligence:

- Coordinate lender due diligence covering technical, legal, financial, insurance, environmental, and regulatory aspects.

- Review concession agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), land documents, and project approvals from a financing perspective.

- Maintain complete project finance documentation and financing trackers.

Financial Reporting & Stakeholder Management:

- Prepare periodic MIS, lender reports, utilization certificates, and management presentations.

- Provide financial inputs for Board presentations, investment committee notes, and investor discussions.

- Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, Projects, Legal, Secretarial, Taxation, and Accounts teams to achieve timely project financial closure.

Qualifications:

- MBA (Finance), CA Inter, CMA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Business Administration.

Experience:

- 2-5 years of experience in Project Finance, Corporate Finance, Infrastructure Finance, or Renewable Energy Financing.

- Experience with renewable energy developers, EPC companies, infrastructure developers, power sector companies, NBFCs, banks, or financial advisory firms will be preferred.

Technical Skills:

- Advanced Financial Modelling in Microsoft Excel.

- Strong understanding of Project Finance and Infrastructure Financing.

- Experience in the preparation of bankable financial models.

- Knowledge of debt structuring, term loans, consortium lending, and project appraisal.

- Experience in preparing CMA Data and financing proposals.

- Familiarity with Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), EPC Contracts, O&M Agreements, and project financing documentation.

- Understanding of RBI guidelines, banking processes, and lender documentation.

- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or equivalent).

Preferred Exposure:

- Candidates with experience in financing projects involving:

1. Solar PV (Utility Scale & C&I)

2. Wind Power Projects

3. Hybrid Renewable Projects

4. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

5. Transmission & Distribution Projects

6. Roads, Metro, Water, or other Infrastructure Projects will be preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Timely completion of financial models and investment analyses.

- Successful submission and approval of financing proposals.

- Achievement of project financial closure within scheduled timelines.

- Timely compliance with lender Conditions Precedent (CPs) and pre-disbursement requirements.

- Accuracy and quality of financial models and lender documentation.

- Effective coordination with lenders and cross-functional teams.

- Compliance with financing covenants and reporting requirements.
