About the Role:
As the Vice President - Instructional Design , you will lead the strategic, operational, and delivery functions of the Instructional Design (ID) division across corporate learning, higher education, and K-12 segments
You will be responsible for overseeing a high-performing team, driving innovation in learning design, ensuring flawless project delivery, managing budgets, and aligning learning solutions with client and business goals. This is a senior leadership role that requires a visionary leader with deep instructional expertise , strong operational capabilities, and a proven ability to scale learning teams and deliver large, complex programs with excellence.
- Define and execute the vision and strategy for instructional design across multiple domains.
- Align instructional methodologies with client goals, market demands, and educational best practices.
- Set KPIs, performance goals, and measurement frameworks to track impact and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale ID projects with full ownership of quality, timeline, and budget.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, content teams, tech teams, and client stakeholders.
- Anticipate delivery risks and implement mitigation strategies across global accounts.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning across the ID function.
- Optimize team structure, headcount, and resource allocation to meet business growth targets.
- Ensure margin optimization and operational efficiency in ID project delivery.
- Build and manage a large team of instructional designers, team leads, and learning strategists.
- Foster a high-performance culture through mentorship, upskilling, performance feedback, and career pathing.
- Drive competency-building in learning science, AI in ID, digital pedagogy, and immersive technologies.
- Lead client discovery, learning needs analysis, and solution architecture.
- Represent the company in client reviews, steering committees, and thought leadership forums.
- Champion AI-driven learning , adaptive learning models , and immersive (VR/AR) content strategies.
- Standardize instructional design processes, templates, and toolkits to ensure scalable excellence.
- Lead innovation pilots in microlearning, gamification, and learner analytics.
- Master's degree or higher in Instructional Design, Learning Science, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Proven success in delivery and P&L ownership for large-scale learning engagements.
- Experience managing diverse teams across corporate, higher education, and K-12 sectors.
- Strong knowledge of learning theories, digital pedagogy, LMS/LXPs , and modern design practices.
- Exposure to working with global clients and cross-cultural teams.
- Familiarity with AI in learning , learning analytics , instructional automation tools , and authoring tools
- Executive presence and ability to influence senior client stakeholders.
- Experience integrating learning with business outcomes and workforce development goals.
