About the Role:


- As an Accounting Manager, you will be a hands-on senior accounting professional responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of financial data for a portfolio of US-based clients and internally controlled entities.

- This role is execution-first and requires a high degree of independence. In the first 90 days, you are expected to take full ownership of cleaning up internal books, stabilizing accounting processes, and leading the migration from QuickBooks/Wave into Odoo with minimal hand-holding.

- Over time, the role expands to include review, coaching, and leadership of a scaled accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Operations & Quality

- Execute and review bookkeeping and close activities across multiple entities.

- Ensure 100% monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.

- Maintain audit-ready books aligned with US GAAP.

2. First 90-Day Priority: Internal Accounting & Systems Migration

- Assume full accounting ownership for internally controlled entities.

- Diagnose and fix historical accounting issues.

- Plan and execute migration of data and workflows from QuickBooks/Wave into Odoo.

- Validate post-migration balances, controls, and reports.

- Deliver the first clean close in Odoo within 90 days.

3. Process, Automation & Knowledge Base

- Build and maintain the firm's accounting knowledge base (SOPs, checklists, standards).

- Design scalable documentation that supports training and consistency.

- Explore and potentially develop software or system-based solutions to manage accounting knowledge.

- Continuously improve workflows using automation and AI.

4. Team Leadership & Scale (Phased)

- Initially operate as a senior individual contributor.

- Progress to reviewing work and training others.

- Ultimately build and manage a team of 7-10 bookkeepers, setting standards and accountability.

5. Client & Stakeholder Interaction

- Support internal and external stakeholders with clear financial insights.

- Over time, act as a trusted guide explaining numbers, variances, and implications.

Who You Are:

- Strong accountant with deep US GAAP and accrual accounting knowledge.

- Proven ability to execute complex projects independently.

- Comfortable working with limited structure and minimal hand-holding.

- Systems thinker who enjoys building documentation and scalable solutions.

- Confident leader capable of managing and developing a large accounting team.

This Role Is NOT For You If:

- You require constant direction or oversight.


- You avoid messy books or system migrations.


- You are uncomfortable building processes from scratch.


- You prefer narrow individual contributor roles long-term.

90-Day Scorecard (Mandatory Outcomes)

By Day 30:


- Full access to all internal accounting systems.

- Diagnostic review of internal books completed.

- Odoo migration plan finalized.

By Day 60:


- Legacy books cleaned and reconciled.

- Data mapped and at least one entity migrated into Odoo.

By Day 90:


- All internal entities fully migrated to Odoo.

- First clean month-end close completed in Odoo.

- Core accounting SOPs documented in the knowledge base.
