
Job Title: Purchase Officer - Non-Technical
Experience Required: 2-5 years
Job Description:
- We are looking for a proactive and organized Purchase Officer - Non-Technical to handle procurement activities for indirect materials, office supplies, services, and general consumables.
- The ideal candidate should have prior experience in vendor management, negotiation, and procurement processes in the petrochemical or manufacturing domain.
Key Responsibilities (KRA):
- Manage procurement of general and administrative items, packaging materials, consumables, and services
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for non-technical purchases
- Negotiate price, terms, and delivery timelines with vendors
- Maintain purchase records, vendor databases, and documentation for audit compliance
- Coordinate with internal departments (Admin, Finance, HR) to fulfill procurement needs
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to ensure timely replenishment
- Ensure timely delivery and resolve issues related to delays, quality, or disputes
- Support cost-saving initiatives through supplier consolidation and efficient sourcing
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement SOPs
- Generate purchase orders (POs) and track order status in ERP systems
Required Skillsets:
- Knowledge of procurement cycle, purchase documentation, and vendor management
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Understanding of basic commercial terms and taxation (GST, TDS, etc.)
- Good coordination and follow-up skills with internal teams and external suppliers
Qualifications:
- MBA/Graduate in Commerce / Business Administration
- 2-5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing, petrochemical, or plastic/rubber industry
