Key Responsibilities:
HSE Management Systems & Compliance:
- Implement, maintain, and continually improve the HSE Management Systems (HSE-MS) in strict alignment with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and relevant national and international regulatory requirements.
- Conduct systematic internal audits, site inspections, and comprehensive risk assessments (JSA/HAZOP) to proactively identify and effectively mitigate hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Lead specialized high-voltage electrical safety initiatives, including managing Arc Flash studies and ensuring the effective implementation and auditing of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit-to-Work (PtW) systems.
Training, Incident Management & Culture:
- Design, develop, and conduct engaging and effective HSE training programs and awareness campaigns for all employees and contractors, ensuring competency across critical risk areas.
- Lead the entire incident investigation process, utilizing structured methodologies like Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to determine underlying causes and ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Champion a strong, positive safety culture across all O&M sites through visible leadership, communication, and employee engagement initiatives.
Environmental & Social Governance (ESG):
- Coordinate and manage Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) for new projects or major operational changes, ensuring compliance with both company standards and lender/international guidelines (e., IFC Performance Standards).
- Ensure rigorous adherence to the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and social safeguards throughout the operational lifecycle, including community engagement and grievance redressal mechanisms.
- Support and drive sustainability initiatives focusing on resource efficiency (water, energy), effective waste management (including hazardous waste), and biodiversity protection on and around site locations.
Contractor & Performance Management:
- Manage and monitor contractor HSE performance, conducting pre-qualification vendor evaluations and regular site audits to ensure full compliance with company standards and legal obligations.
- Develop, analyze, and submit accurate and timely periodic HSE reports, dashboards, and detailed performance reviews to senior management, highlighting trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and improvement targets.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Certification: Relevant professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH Diploma/IGC, CSP, or equivalent are mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in HSE management, with a significant portion dedicated to large-scale Wind, Solar, or other high-voltage/heavy industrial O&M environments.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation, high-voltage electrical safety practices (Arc Flash, LOTO), and incident investigation methodologies.
- ESIA/Social Experience: Proven experience in coordinating/managing ESIA processes and implementing Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) or EMPs.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies:
Advanced Degree: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent business management qualification is highly preferred, demonstrating the ability to integrate HSE strategy with broader business and financial objectives.
O&M Sector Knowledge: Specific experience in managing HSE risks associated with wind turbine maintenance (working at height) and solar panel operations.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from site personnel to executive management
