Business : Markets  Role Title : Fx Management Information Analyst - Global Markets FO  Job Purpose :  HSBC's Global Markets business is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It combines sophisticated 24-hour global coverage with a detailed knowledge of local markets. The trading and sales forces attend to customers that include the world's central banks, international and local corporations, institutional investors, financial institutions and other market participants. GM specializes in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.  The role holder will be responsible for supporting the FX e-Distribution team with Management Information and Analytics.  - Coordination and ownership of Management Information required by the FX e-Distribution franchise of Global Markets for business monitoring and key decision making - across strategic initiatives and business performance.   - The role holder will play a key role in developing the FX e-Distribution MI function for global consistency and increased efficiency of MI. Also the individual hired will be required to ensure timely information is produced on a routine and streamlined basis.   - Interaction with other asset class team members in Bangalore to understand activities being performed currently and suggesting and implementing enhancements that will help save time and/or add value to the process.   - This JD reflects the initial expectations from the roles at this stage. Focus on automating existing and new requests for manual reports.  - Analyse and improve existing reports and solutions to internal and external customer requirements.  - Maintain a detailed knowledge of business systems to ensure the effective utilisation of data bases, reporting any anomalies with the integrity of the management information  - Continually monitor, amend and improve the accuracy and relevance of reports  - Keep abreast of developments in working practices and relevant technology to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information produced.  - Candidate will be working alongside Technology teams to- improve the MI tooling in FX space  Customers / Stakeholders :  - Key resources in the GFX team in Global Markets London, HK and NY.  - Interact with Management, Sales and Programme teams to ensure Reports are relevant and accurate.   Leadership & Teamwork:  - Work effectively within the FX e-Distribution team and colleagues in the US, London, HK and Paris.  - Travel will be required to integrate with the wider eDistribution team  - Build and maintain strong relationships with the Front Office businesses and Support Functions.  Operational Effectiveness & Control  - Lead the continuing development, implementation and improvement of the processes, structures, capabilities, capacity and infrastructure needed to deliver FX e-Distribution Business Management responsibilities.   - Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and a reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.  Typical KPIs and Targets :  - Publishing accurate MIs and management packs together with strong governance and oversight.  - Developing and automating the MI in Global Markets.  - Feedback from key Markets stakeholders.  - Ability to turn around deliverables within short lead times.   - Feedback from key Markets stakeholders.  - Proactively identify and mitigate control gaps.   - Process improvement initiatives.   Major Challenges :  - The use of initiative to improve accuracy and breadth of reporting. The successful individual must be self-motivated and self-disciplined being able to demonstrate a methodical approach.  - Ad-hoc demand for MI will require the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining close attention to detail.   - The job holder should be able to work with minimum supervision but be able to work as part of the wider team.  Role Context :  Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)  - Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.  - Demonstrates compliance with HSBC Bank Plc Group standards, manuals and policies and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls and risk management standards associated with the role.  - Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)  - The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.   - The jobholder will adhere to all relevant processes/procedures.  - Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.  - Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.  Role Dimensions :   - No specific budget responsibility   Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications :   - Overall experience of 3-7 years preferably in the Banking and Finance industry  - Knowledge of Capital Markets in general and the FX business in particular  - Analytical Skills - proven interpretation and utilization of management information  - Ability to distil complex and varied data into information; good process analysis and problem solving skills  - Excellent written, verbal & presentation (including advanced Powerpoint) communication skills   - Advanced level of MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, VBA Macro development  - Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner   - Proven ability to prioritise workload effectively in line with business priorities   - Willingness to own work and problems and see through to completion and use own initiative to resolve issues   - Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to succeed within a matrix management structure and build and maintain global team relationships   - Able to work independently, proactively and under pressure against multiple deadlines   - Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a global organization would be an added advantage  Qualification - Post Graduation / MBA / IT degree and/or qualification from a reputed institute
