Principal responsibilities

- Collaborate with model quants and other quant developers in the EQD team to develop, maintain and support the C++ and Python ecosystem of pricing and analytic libraries and the supporting infrastructure.

- Partner with the equity derivatives front office, other quants, structuring and IT teams to migrate existing and develop new pricing, marking, and trading tools for the strategic python library

- Support the SDLC automation and self-service tooling to enable application owners to on-board and release their applications with minimal overheads, including integration with CI/CD, unit and regression testing, and build tools.

- Develop and maintain Jupyter notebook services for a controlled environment to manage and run notebooks

- Package re-usable Equities Python libraries as components to be consumed across multiple applications

- Ensure compliance with HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit actions and addressing issues raised by external regulators.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in a similar role, including preferably exposure to Equity derivative products.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline, such as computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics or a similar quantitative field.

- Proficient in C++(at least 3 years of hands on experience) and python on both Linux and windows, including working in a large team with a large rapidly changing codebase.

- Solid experience (At least 3 years hands-on exp) of development in Python, exposure to python frameworks like Dash, Flask, FastApi.

- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)

- A disciplined approach to software development in all stages - analysis, build, test, and support - leveraging best practices

- Ability to work effectively in a global team and contribute as a strong team player.

- Capability to work independently, taking initiative, and owning projects from inception to delivery.

- Strong quantitative aptitude and problem-solving skills.
