Business : Equities, GB&M  Role Title : Client Connectivity Associate - Markets, Bangalore  Business/Function & Location : Bangalore   (Country/Department) - Platform Support and Trading-EQ  Job Purpose :  Responsible for supporting the Equities Client Connectivity teams in EMEA & USA Office. Specific tasks include:  - Analyse new client connectivity and FIX messaging requirements originating from client requests, HSBC trading desks or regulatory changes  - Define new requirements within HSBC's FIX messaging layer  - Work with FIX technical teams to implement requirements in test environments  - Write test plans for internal and external testing  - Conduct internal, client and vendor testing   - Certify HSBC's algos on third-party platforms  - Maintain database of clients and connections  - Maintain audit trail of all FIX changes  - Work with Client Connectivity teams to track client activity and identify unused connections  - Flag successful migrations, enhancements and on-boarding's through use of monthly client activity reports  - Reconcile active connections with vendor invoices  Principal Accountabilities :  Key activities and decision making areas  Impact on the Business :  - Accurate and timely completion of connectivity testing  - Documentation of changes  - Accurate analysis of production changes required  Customers / Stakeholders :  - Connectivity Teams in EMEA and US   - Equities Production Support teams  - External Vendors and client IT teams  - Sales traders  Leadership & Teamwork :  - Responsible for maintaining good communication and teamwork between Client Connectivity resources in Onshore locations and counterpart resources in Bangalore  - Builds strong relationships with counterpart resources in Onshore locations  Operational Effectiveness & Control :   - Understand the implication of changes to client connections and the likely business impact of different routing instructions and order types  - Be able to use initiative and judgement to adjust technical solutions appropriately  Typical KPIs and Targets :   - Changes work as expected   - Accurate documentation produced  - Business requirements are met  - Feedback from clients and vendors  - Ability to turn around deliverables with short lead time  - Clients and salestraders are satisfied with FIX messaging  - Effective co-operation within the team  - Takes ownership of issues  - Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues  - All teams have up-to-date repository of client connectivity data  Major Challenges:   - First offshoring of Markets Front Office roles so strong support and guidance will be required for the business  - A rapidly changing regulatory environment with extensive impacts on the Markets businesses  - A high risk and sensitive set of functions potentially to be offshored so it is critical there is no negative business or client impact  - Increasing focus on business continuity delivery  - Availability of appropriate resources and conflicting priorities across the business  Role Context :   By the end of 2015 the GBM footprint across the GSCs will be over 7000 FTE across 7 centres and 6 countries. The Service Centres will be supporting all business lines within GBM including Markets, HSS and Banking.
