Business : Fixed Income - Global Markets Role Title : Associate Director, Fixed Income Customer Segment &amp; Location : Global Markets, Bangalore Role Purpose : - Accountable to the Regional Head of Fixed Income Trading and Regional Fixed Income Business Manager in Hong Kong for supporting oversight of all activities relating to the management of the Regional business. - The Business Manager is positioned as a key role in the senior management layer of Markets. The Business Manager is responsible for helping build strategy and drive efficient execution by engaging stakeholders across the Business and Support functions. This role is responsible for ensuring effective governance structures and processes are in place to drive key cost, RWA and revenue deliveries. - Serve as point of engagement with various programmes to ensure that Fixed Income's priorities and delivery requirements are observed. As needed deputise for the Global business manager and chair Steercos as required. Principal Accountabilities : Key activities and decision making areas : a. Impact on the Business:&nbsp; - Responsible for operational aspects of the control environment including aspects of regulatory change as they move to BAU - Helping the Regional team develop and drive business strategy and related deliveries - Ensure the Operational Risk and Compliance Management framework remains current - this includes owning the RCA for FI - Support business management with running effective Business Control Committees (BCCs) - Maintaining desk documentation and accessibility of key policies and procedures - Ensure controls and procedures are in line with Global Standards and FCC policy roll out - Customers / Stakeholders - The role will involve direct interaction with the Fixed Income desk across ASP, as well as support groups. - Additional stakeholders will be within the ASP Business Management team and the global FI Business management community. Role Context : - The global fixed income business forms part of Global Banking and Markets and has a global presence in geographies with varying regulator environments. - The successful candidate should preferably have a thorough understanding of FI products, the competitive landscape, and the strategic outlook for the industry. Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements) : - Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations. Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements) : - Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. - Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy. Knowledge &amp; Experience / Qualifications : - Strong ability to engage and influence senior business and functional stake-holders - Extensive knowledge of regulation - Experience of internal control matters and large change programmes - Strong analytical skills required to perform in-depth review of impact to existing business - Familiarity with Technology - Previous experience working in Global Markets and knowledge of Fixed Income products - Ability to adapt to new topics. - Ability to deliver within a matrix structure - Ability to establish strong relationships with internal and external clients. - Ability to challenge constructively and affect change - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
