HR Project Manager (5-12 yrs)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic HR Project Manager to join our Human Resources team within the dynamic financial services sector. Reporting directly to the VP HR, this role is critical in driving key HR initiatives, optimizing processes across the entire employee lifecycle (hire-to-retire), and ensuring the successful delivery of complex HR projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR operations, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to influence positive change in challenging markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership & Execution: Lead, plan, execute, and finalize HR projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
- HR Lifecycle Optimization: Drive the implementation and enhancement of HR parameters across all stages of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to talent development, performance management, and offboarding.
- Governance & Compliance: Initiate and manage governance-related projects to ensure HR policies, processes, and systems comply with internal standards and external regulations, particularly within the financial services context.
- Change Management: Effect significant change in specific markets or business units that are underperforming from an HR perspective, developing and implementing strategies to improve HR delivery and business outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments, including business leaders, IT, finance, and other HR functions, ensuring alignment and buy-in for HR initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish, monitor, and report on Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all HR projects, ensuring targets are met and progress is clearly communicated.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize strong analytical skills to interpret HR data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. Develop and deliver compelling presentations and reports using Excel and other tools to inform decision-making.
- System Acumen: Leverage a strong understanding of HRIS platforms, particularly SAP SuccessFactors, to drive system-related projects and optimize HR technology utilization.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- In-depth HR Lifecycle Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the entire "hire-to-retire" employee lifecycle and its associated processes.
- Proven Project Management: Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple complex projects, preferably within an HR or financial services context.
- Financial Services Acumen: Experience working within or a strong understanding of the financial services industry's unique HR challenges and regulatory environment.
- Change Management Expertise: Proven ability to drive and manage organizational change, particularly in environments requiring performance improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of effective stakeholder management at all levels.
- Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify insights, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, and strong skills in creating impactful presentations (e.g., PowerPoint).
- HRIS Experience: Practical understanding and experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS), with a specific emphasis on SAP SuccessFactors.
Ancillary/Preferred Skills:
- PMP or other recognized project management certification.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Prior experience in a consulting role focused on HR or organizational change.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree or relevant HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in HR, with at least 3-5 years in an HR project management role, ideally within financial services.
