About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to partner closely with technology and product development teams in a fast-paced organisation.
The role will act as a strategic HR partner to business leaders while driving employee engagement, talent management, performance management, workforce planning, HR operations, and people initiatives.
A key part of the role will also involve HR vendor management, ensuring effective coordination, service delivery, compliance, commercial management, and performance monitoring of external HR service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Business Partnering:
- Partner with business leaders and technology/product leadership to understand workforce and people requirements.
- Provide HR advisory support on employee lifecycle, organisational effectiveness, performance and people-related matters.
- Translate business objectives into practical HR initiatives.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for managers and employees.
2. Talent & Workforce Management:
- Support workforce planning, manpower budgeting and organisational restructuring initiatives.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition teams on critical and niche technology hiring requirements.
- Identify talent gaps and support succession and talent development initiatives.
- Analyse workforce trends and provide actionable insights to business leadership.
3. Employee Engagement & Employee Relations:
- Drive employee engagement initiatives across technology/product teams.
- Monitor employee satisfaction, engagement and retention trends.
- Handle employee grievances and facilitate timely resolution of employee relations matters.
- Conduct employee connect initiatives, skip-level interactions and engagement activities.
4. Performance Management:
- Drive performance management processes across assigned business units.
- Partner with managers on goal setting, performance reviews, feedback and development plans.
- Support identification and management of high performers and underperformers.
- Ensure effective implementation of HR policies and performance frameworks.
5. HR Vendor Management - Key Responsibility:
- Manage relationships with external HR and people-service vendors.
- Coordinate with vendors for recruitment, staffing, background verification, payroll, employee benefits, learning, HR technology and other HR services as applicable.
- Define and monitor SLAs, KPIs and service quality for HR vendors.
- Review vendor performance, commercial terms, invoices and service delivery.
- Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and resolve escalations.
- Support vendor onboarding, empanelment, contract renewal and commercial negotiations.
- Ensure vendors comply with organisational policies, statutory requirements, data privacy and contractual obligations.
- Identify opportunities to optimise vendor costs and improve service quality.
- Maintain appropriate vendor documentation, MIS and performance reports.
6. HR Analytics & Reporting:
- Prepare HR dashboards and management reports covering headcount, attrition, hiring, engagement, performance and other people metrics.
- Analyse HR data and identify trends requiring management intervention.
- Present actionable insights to HR and business leadership.
7. HR Policies & Compliance:
- Ensure effective implementation of HR policies and processes.
- Partner with relevant teams to ensure compliance with applicable employment and statutory requirements.
- Support HR audits and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and organisational information.
8. HR Projects & Transformation:
- Lead or participate in HR transformation and process-improvement projects.
- Support implementation and optimisation of HRMS / HR technology platforms.
- Drive automation and digitisation of HR processes wherever possible.
- Participate in organisation-wide people initiatives and change management programs.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong HR Business Partnering experience within a technology / product development environment.
- Experience partnering with Technology, Engineering, Product, R&D or Digital teams.
- Strong HR Vendor Management and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Good understanding of employee engagement, performance management and talent management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and business leaders.
- Strong negotiation and commercial understanding for vendor management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technology environment.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, policies and employment practices.
- Hands-on experience with HRMS / HR analytics tools will be an advantage.
Preferred Experience:
Must Have:
- 6 - 10 years of overall HR experience.
- Strong HRBP experience in a technology / product development organisation.
- Experience working with technology/product/engineering stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in HR vendor management.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Good to Have:
- Experience in a SaaS, software product, technology, IT services or engineering/R&D organisation.
- Exposure to HR transformation / HR digitalisation.
- Experience managing multiple external HR service providers.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
