Function: Human Resources (Sales HR )
Job Purpose:
This is a high-impact, field-oriented HR role responsible for enabling the smooth functioning of the salesforce across geographies. The incumbent will serve as a key HR interface for the sales team, ensuring operational excellence in field HR support including stock and sales statement tracking, timely sample distribution, payroll, and incentive management. Over time, the role may also evolve to lead Learning & Development (L&D) for the field force.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Field Force Support
- Act as a primary HR point of contact for all sales team members across zones.
- Ensure seamless availability of stock and sample kits to field teams through coordination with supply chain, logistics, and depots.
- Monitor and track sales performance data to assist in timely reporting and analytics.
2. Payroll & Incentive Management
- Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of field employees' salaries.
- Manage the monthly incentive cycle for field staff by verifying target achievements and eligibility.
- Address and resolve payroll/incentive-related grievances of the sales force promptly.
3. Data Management & MIS
- Maintain a structured system for field force master data (territories, regions, reporting structures).
- Generate dashboards and reports for leadership on sales performance, workforce analytics, and stock/sample distribution.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise closely with Sales Leadership, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR Operations to ensure field requirements are met proactively.
- Provide on-ground support to resolve real-time field issues through regular engagement with RSMs/ZSMs/ASMs.
5. Compliance & Process Governance
- Ensure all field HR operations comply with internal policies and statutory requirements.
- Standardize processes and policies related to field force support across business units and geographies.
6. Talent Development (Future Scope)
- Design and implement skill-building and soft-skill development programs for field staff in coordination with Sales L&D and Corporate HR teams.
- Support career planning and succession strategies for high-potential sales professionals.
Key Competencies:
- Strong understanding of field sales operations (preferably in pharma/FMCG)
- HR operational excellence with focus on accuracy and efficiency
- High ownership and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-linked environment
- Strong interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with strong Excel/reporting capabilities
Qualifications:
- MBA/PGDM in HR or related field from a reputed institute
- 10-15 years of experience in Sales HR, HR Operations, or Field HR
- Prior experience supporting a distributed salesforce is essential
- Industry background in pharmaceuticals
