Role Overview

The Planning Manager Supply Chain is responsible for driving end-to-end supply chain planning functions, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, production scheduling, and distribution planning.

This role ensures the seamless alignment of supply with market demand while optimizing working capital, lead times, and service levels.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning), data-driven decision-making, and proficiency in planning tools such as SAP APO, Kinaxis, JDA, or O9.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop accurate demand forecasts by analyzing sales trends, market insights, and historical data.

- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to align on demand assumptions and forecasts.

- Identify forecast deviations and perform root-cause analysis for variance reduction.

- Lead monthly demand review meetings as part of the S&OP process.

- Translate demand forecasts into production and procurement plans to ensure material and capacity availability.

- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics teams to align supply capabilities with demand.

- Monitor capacity utilization, production schedules, and supplier performance to prevent bottlenecks.

- Balance production and distribution priorities to optimize service levels and cost efficiency.

- Develop and maintain optimal inventory strategies to meet service levels while minimizing working capital.

- Set safety stock parameters, reorder points, and lead-time standards.

- Track inventory KPIs such as Days of Supply (DOS), Inventory Turnover, and Stock Accuracy.

- Drive initiatives to reduce slow-moving and obsolete inventory.

- Lead and facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.

- Collaborate across functions to balance demand, supply, and financial objectives.

- Prepare and present planning insights, risks, and recommendations to leadership.

- Use advanced analytics to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities in demand and supply performance.

- Generate planning dashboards and KPIs for senior management review.

- Utilize tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for scenario modeling and reporting.

- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the planning process.

- Support automation and digitization of supply chain planning functions.

- Lead or support ERP / Planning system upgrades or implementations.

- Liaise with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure planning alignment.

- Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to manage supply continuity.

- Drive cross-functional alignment for new product introductions (NPI) and demand ramp-ups.
