Position Overview:
National Manager of External Communications and Social Media is a strategic role responsible for shaping and protecting the corporate reputation of HCCB. This individual will lead the company's narrative across all external touchpoints, including traditional media, government relations, and digital platforms. The role requires a seasoned professional who can blend high-level strategic counsel for senior leadership with hands-on execution of impactful communication campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
1. External Communications & Media Relations
- Reputation Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy to enhance HCCB's corporate brand among stakeholders, including media, industry bodies, and the public.
- Media Advocacy: Build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional media; act as the primary point of contact for press inquiries and media positioning.
- Executive Positioning: Provide strategic counsel to the senior leadership team, crafting thought-leadership content, keynote speeches, and formal communications for high-stakes forums.
2. Social Media & Digital Strategy
- Digital Leadership: Overhaul and manage HCCB's social media presence across all platforms (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, etc.), ensuring a consistent and engaging corporate voice.
- Innovation: Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to optimize content creation, track sentiment, and increase engagement efficiency.
- Influencer & Stakeholder Engagement: Develop digital campaigns that bridge the gap between corporate advocacy and public perception.
3. CSR & Sustainability Advocacy
- Impact Storytelling: Lead the narrative for flagship CSR initiatives (such as Project SHINE), focusing on water replenishment, waste management, and community livelihood programs.
- Public Affairs Support: Coordinate with the Public Affairs and Communication (PACS) team to support policy advocacy and sustainability goals through strategic messaging.
4. Crisis & Issues Management
- Crisis Readiness: Develop and maintain robust crisis communication protocols to mitigate reputational risks.
- Proactive Mitigation: Monitor industry trends and political landscapes to anticipate and manage potential issues related to the FMCG and manufacturing sectors.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: 12-15 years of experience in Corporate Communications, PR, or Social Media leadership. Experience in the FMCG, Fintech, or Technology sectors is highly preferred.
Strategic Vision: Proven track record of managing complex communication landscapes
Leadership: Exceptional ability to influence senior-level stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
Communication Excellence: Superior writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex corporate data into compelling narratives.
Digital Fluency: Deep understanding of social media algorithms, digital analytics, and the application of AI in communications.
Education: Master's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
