What is the role?

Reporting to the Vice President of Energy & Industry (E&I), leads a team to develop and implement the segment strategies in India. Implementing segment strategies entails: identifying focus customers & focus applications (which decides which products and services to offer). This is a team leading role. Team leading in our context means that you will spend most of your time coaching team members to increase their competence (higher competence means they will be able to pitch Hilti's value proposition better) as well as interface with senior customers to help your team successfully negotiate commercial opportunities. This role partners strongly with sales teams (based in India) as well as segment management teams (based in Singapore & Liechtenstein). This role would also feed into the succession pipeline of senior roles in India (e.g. Vice President) and also of the region (e.g. Regional Segment Head).

Key Responsibilities & goals:

- In this role, the incumbent will coach & lead a team of business developers to create sustainable business relationships with key stakeholders and present the Hilti value proposition and differentiation to secure business within the responsible segment. This individual will identify business opportunities to allow for local applications to secure profitable growth, while expanding the buying customer platform.

- This position also requires one to define and / or refine segment strategies (e.g. by evaluating the market environment to define market potential, key applications, customer needs, business plan). He / She will partner with, and communicate effectively with, appropriate matrix stakeholders within Hilti to ensure acquisition & execution of business opportunities.

- As a team leader, he / she will guide the team by creating roadmaps, planning activities, and setting objectives, and will coach and develop team members (those who report directly to this individual and those who report to the matrix counterparts).

- With an entrepreneurial mindset, one will challenge the status quo, taking calculated risks to drive and develop innovation from within. He / She will proactively monitor the external environment and translate relevant trends into the organization, to ensure agility and value creation.

What are the essential knowledge, experiences and skills you need for this role?

- MBA from a reputed institute (India or abroad) & B. Tech in Engineering.

- Experience of managing P&L is a plus

- Proven ability to manage relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

- Strong business sense with entrepreneurial attitude.

- Ability to think conceptually

- Passion to get into technical / commercial / contractual details while discussing techno-commercially with customer.

- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
