About the Role:
We are looking for an accomplished and visionary Vice President Engineering R&D to lead the end-to-end research, product engineering, and innovation strategy for our portfolio of advanced communication solutions, including Access Points, UBR-P2P, P2MP, and Network Switches.
This executive role demands a balance of technical credibility, strategic foresight, and organizational leadership.
The VP will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible not only for engineering excellence but also for driving long-term product innovation aligned with market trends, customer needs, and business growth goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and drive the R&D strategy in alignment with corporate objectives, focusing on innovation, scalability, and time-to-market.
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap that positions the company as a leader in wireless communications, RF systems, and embedded platforms.
- Partner with the executive leadership team on M&A evaluations, IP strategy, and global R&D investments.
Operational Excellence:
- Lead and scale high-performance engineering teams across hardware, firmware, and platform engineering, ensuring operational efficiency and delivery excellence.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, QA, and Go-to-Market teams to ensure cohesive product lifecycle execution.
- Oversee program management, milestone tracking, budget adherence, and risk management across multiple concurrent product lines.
Innovation & Technology Oversight:
- Steer next-gen product development in areas such as Wi-Fi 6/6E/7, SDN, IoT, cloud-managed networks, and AI/ML-enabled network management.
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging research partnerships, prototyping, and early adoption of disruptive technologies.
- Ensure product designs are compliant with industry standards (IEEE 802.11, 5G, IoT protocols) and applicable global regulatory frameworks.
People & Culture:
- Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent while nurturing a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Set performance goals, conduct executive reviews, and mentor future technical leaders across domains.
- Lead organizational transformation initiatives including agile adoption, DevOps practices, and engineering process maturity.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15+ years of leadership experience in R&D for wireless communication, networking, and embedded systems.
- Demonstrated track record in delivering market-defining communication products (Access Points, P2P/P2MP radios, Layer 2/3 switches).
- Deep understanding of network protocols, cloud-native architecture, RF systems, and embedded software development (C/C++, Linux, RTOS).
- Proven experience managing large, geographically distributed engineering organizations.
- Familiarity with hardware design cycles including PCB, RF, ASIC, and FPGA development.
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and ability to translate technology decisions into measurable business outcomes
